SECOND READING I Corinthians 4:1-5

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION Lumen Christi Missal Cantor, then all; thereafter: all GOSPEL Matthew 6:24-34 Deacon: The Lord be with you. ℟: And with your spirit.

Deacon: A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew. ℟: Glory to you, O Lord.

At the conclusion of the Gospel:

Deacon: The Gospel of the Lord. ℟: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

HOMILY NICENE CREED I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation, he came down from heaven,

(All bow while saying:) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. UNIVERSAL PRAYER

℟: Lord, hear our prayer.

The Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, the parent organization of the Church of St. Bede, is equivalent to a diocese

and was created by the Vatican in 2012.

The Ordinariate was formed in order to help former Anglicans become Catholic and celebrate Catholic Masses while still retaining

some Anglican traditions.

Therefore, this Mass is different from the Sunday Mass you are probably used to, but still orthodox and fulfills a Roman

Catholic's Sunday obligation.

All are welcome to attend! Visit the Church of St. Bede’s website at www.thevenerablebede.org for more information.

MINNESOTA FOODSHARE MARCH 2017 CAMPAIGN Going strong for 35 years, the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign is the largest food drive in the state, and congregations like ours are the heart of the campaign. You are invited to bring non-perishable items to Mass every weekend during March; please place them in the collection bins located in the church entryways. Let’s help fill the Saint Louis Park Emergency Program (STEP) food shelves and make sure our neighbors do not go hungry! ——————–————————————————————–——————————————————— LEARN WITH YOUR FAMILY: LENTEN BIBLE STUDY The Great Adventure Story Book, beautifully illustrated and Catholic-based, helps families read through the Bible together. This study of the Bible would be a perfect family activity for Sundays (or every day) of Lent. It is written by parishioner Linda Wandrei, along with Emily Cavins and a couple of other local writers. To learn more and to find out how to purchase the book, visit www.hfcmn.org . ——————–————————————————————–——————————————————— KNOW SOMEONE WHO SHOULD DISCERN THE PRIESTHOOD? This discernment group is open to young men who have received the sacrament of Confirmation (sophomores and older). Please share this information to spread the word!

Taking place today and most Sundays! 3 - 4 PM: Discussion of the spiritual life, priesthood, and discernment led by Father Joseph Johnson. 4 - 4:30 PM: Sung Vespers

The Holy Spirit is the only one who "recruits" a young man for the priesthood! These gatherings are simply a way to learn more about growth in holiness and how to ask the question in prayer to see if God is calling you. It's an informal format driven by questions and answers rather than a defined topic each week. If you are interested in attending, please email Father Joseph at [email protected] with any questions, as well as your basic information (name, age, school, grade, email, and phone number). A group email will be sent out with details and also in the event of any cancellations.

vocations in their home for one week, returning it before the next scheduled Mass.

This Sunday, the Chalice can be picked up by the Greg & Claire Roden family after 9 AM Mass.

2017-2018 registration is open

Word of mouth is the both the best way to welcome others, and the best advertisement. Please tell the parents you know about all the amazing things HFA has to offer their children, ages Pre-K through 8th grade!

Holy Family Academy provides its students with a classical education. A classical education gives students a strong background in literature,

history, language, grammar, writing, math and the sciences. It views all of these subjects as interrelated, and shows students the connections between

them. A classical curriculum concentrates on fully developing the intellectual and character skills appropriate to each age level, thereby

progressively and effectively guiding students into more advanced work. The classical model of education represents the backbone of the Western

tradition, and was used by the Catholic Church to instruct her faithful for most of her 2,000 year history.

HFA OPEN CLASSROOM EVENT Do you know parents of 2017-2018 1st, 2nd, or 3rd graders who would be interested in HFA? Please help spread the word! The philosophy of Montessori education is to support students in their natural development of mind, body and soul. Both Montessori and Classical education seek to allow students to behold the truth, goodness and beauty in the world as revealed to mankind through the Incarnation.

† Catechesis of the Good Shepherd: Pre-K through Grade 1 The purpose of The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is to assist the involvement of children and adults in a common religious experience in which the religious values of childhood, primarily those values of contemplation and enjoyment of God, are predominant. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of both fasting and abstinence. All Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence. Fasting is obligatory for all those ages 18-59 (one full meal and two smaller snacks not to equal a meal). Abstinence from all meat products is binding on those age 14 and up.

PLEASE JOIN US FOR AN ADULT LENTEN LEARNING SERIES! Holy Family welcomes all adult parishioners, married and unmarried, to participate in our newest four-week catechesis series: A Practical Guide to Marriage in Confusing Times. Chances are you’ve heard the statistic that around 50% of today’s marriages end in divorce. Chances are even better that you know someone who is divorced. This Lenten series is designed to recognize the societal and personal difficulties of marriage and family life, and to apply the wisdom of human experience, the grace of the sacraments, and the hope of Church teaching to help us learn how to encourage ourselves and others to fully commit in a world moving away from commitment. Each presentation will take place on Tuesdays, Mar. 7th through Mar. 28th, from 7-8 PM in Fr. Moorman Hall. Time for questions and discussion will be provided.

All are welcome! At 3 PM, on Sunday, Mar. 5th, the Mirandola Ensemble will present Parce Domine: Meditations for Lent, a program of lush polyphony and virtuosic Gregorian chant. The

program includes movements of Orlando di Lasso's haunting Prophetiae Sibyllarum, Thomas Tallis's Lamentations

of Jeremiah, the sublime chant melodies of Hildegard von Bingen, and the more subdued polyphony of Tomás Luis de

Victoria and King John IV of Portugal. This free-will offering event will be approximately one hour in length.
