We are very proud to present to you our Fall 2012 boar line-up. We began Premium Blend Genetics this spring and the response has been beyond what we could have dreamed. Looking at the boars we have to offer, we could not be prouder and more confident in their ability

to produce banner grabbers and breed improvers.

So many people have been instrumental in helping us get started and we are truly humbled to be able to call

so many - good friends.

They say nothing good ever happens after midnight – well we beg to differ in at least one instance as it was around 3:00 AM when we met Chris Jones in a hotel parking lot in Oklahoma to pick up Superman - and we think that will prove to be a very good thing. When Superman rolled out of the trailer and onto the paved hotel parking and we saw those steer legs reaching forward and looking like they were going to rip the pavement up as he planted them - we knew things had just changed and we were now

being handed the best Berkshire we had ever seen – period – no debate – no question – not a close second.

Royal blood runs thru his veins as Superman’s sire was Bar None – the Reserve Overall weanling at Duncan and his dam was the Champion Berk gilt @ Houston 2011. Superman and his littermates cut a wide swath thru Texas this spring. Out of Fischer’s 9-to-5 Warfare son on a Batman dam, he is as square and correct as they come. He looks like he was manufactured with a level and a square with joints as clean as they get. Night Shift’s pasterns are up where they need to be and we think he will be able to help lots

of issues there pretty fast. Growth pattern looks like he is going to be one that will let that bone develop while he cruises to weight. We think Night Shift will work great on big framed sows that need structure corrected while being able

Why would anybody pay $9500 for a 2 month old Hamp boar? Our answer is - What would it take to own Black Ice if he looks like he did at the Extravaganza when he weighs 350 lbs? More than any other breed, we love trying to piece together Hamp-shires and we thought Black Ice would give us access to a very interesting piece to try to make it all fit together. We saw four things we loved about Black Ice – 1) front and rear toes that were short and evenly spread 2) naturally massive rib cage,

Our family roots run very deep in the Poland breed as that is where my Grandfather Chester Meal started in the purebred business in 1916. The Meal’s cut a pretty big swath in those days with their Polands showing 5 Polands to Grand Overall 4-H Barrow honors at the Indiana State Fair. We are committed to building our Poland herd to that same level of excellence. We went to Springfield hoping to find a great Poland boar to continue the building process and we hoped he would be an outcross to the great PSSS Nom Nom Nom. We heard about the Boicken boar very soon after we arrived and when we saw him we were pretty sure it was a Done Deal that he was the one we needed to bring home. This Poland boar is so opened up and stout from end to end, with great center

body and mass. In addition to this, he has a very correct set to his angles and moves around the yard with ease.

We are thrilled to own the boar we hope can move our herd and the Poland breed to new levels. Where DONE DEAL is good – width, and structure, he is really good! Judge Bill Range described this boar as being the Poland boar that can get things DONE where the

Cool CellWe certainly have great respect and admiration for the Yorkshire breed but it is not one that we breed on a daily basis so we asked several Yorkshire breeders what they would be looking for in a Yorkshire boar to breed to their sows? The response was pretty consistent– get their pasterns up off the ground, moderate them so they don’t have to be 350 lbs to finish out, and get rid of their “jump” muscle. WELL - HERE YOU GO.
