At NTT Com’s Data Centers, power failure is not an option, so all the electrical systems are designed with N+1 to 2N redundancy, including the generators, UPS and power feeds to the racks. There is no single point of failure in the electrical design, which also means that there will not be any downtime during any maintenance.

NTT Com’s Data Centers are designed for extremely high cooling density. Highly efficient chillers and state-of-the-art Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) units are deployed with redundancy incorporated into the entire cooling system. All systems can be maintained concurrently without any disruption so that cooling is always available to your mission critical equipments. In addition, the CRAC units are separated from the main server room to ensure that maintenance can be carried out without compromising security.

The server rooms incorporate an intelligent hot and cold air management system. The racks are arranged in a typical hot aisle and cold aisle layout and containment systems are used to effectively prevent the mixture of hot and cold air. This integration of state-of-the-art systems and intelligent hot and cold air management can enable 12KW racks to be deployed.

Smart and Green DesignSingapore Serangoon Data Center is built according to a smart building and green exterior design, to ensure that it is a sustainable and environmentally-friendly development.

By benchmarking itself to the highest standards, Singapore Serangoon Data Center became the first commercial data center to receive the Green Mark Platinum Award from Building & Construction Authority (BCA). It has been awarded Gold for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, a green-building rating system that is used by the US Green Building Council (USGBC).

In addition, Singapore Serangoon Data Centre has been awarded with the prestigious ISO/IEC 27001:2005 Information Security Management certification. British Standards Institution (BSI) certifies that Serangoon Data Center has an effective process framework to establish, manage and continually improve information security and business continuity.

Other green features include use of motion sensors, NEWater, energy and water-efficient fittings within the premises.

NTT Com’s Tai Seng 2 Data Center is located in the Tai Seng area and is operated by Global Switch. As one of the anchor tenants, NTT Com occupies a total of 22,000sqft that is dedicated to data center use – spread across three floors.

The building has full redundancy and adheres to NTT Com’s global data center standards.There are two incoming power feeds from different substations; IT load are supported by UPS in a 2N configuration; onsite generators provide emergency backup; and onsite diesel tanks have a minimum of 24 hours of run time at full load.

NTT Tai Seng 2 Data Center is also carrier neutral, allowing it to connect to more than 20 carriers and providing customers with multiple connectivity options.

The building is physically secured with perimeter fencing and has a minimum of five layers of security, with security personnel onsite 24x7 and supported by CCTV in all the major areas.
