Purpose

The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) would l ike to continue to provide & expand the successful Career

Exploration Teen Camp program, in part, to bridge the lapse in learning in the summer months when youth are out of regular

school. The department wil l col laborate with other agencies in the development of Li fe Ski l ls, Job Readiness, and Career Exploration to serve 1,000 youth across the City. While al l teenagers desire

jobs during their summer months, there are not enough jobs to go around. Thus teen camps fil l the gap by offering career

exploration, job ski l ls training and recreation with a stipend.
