Prepositions of place A preposition of place is a preposition
which is used to refer to a place where something or someone is located. There are only three prepositions of place, however they can be used to discuss an almost endless number of places.

IN A preposition of
place which is used to discuss an enclosed space
EX: The ball is IN the box

On A preposition of time
which is used to discuss a surface
EX: The ball is ON the box

Under mean at a lower
level. (Something is above it)
EX: The ball is UNDER the box

Behind means at the back
(part) of something
EX: The bal is BEHIND the box

Next to refers to a thing
(or person) that is at the side of another thing
EX: The ball is NEX TO the box

In front of
EX: The ball is IN FRONT OF the box

something in the middle of two objects or things (or places).
