IntroductionThis section provides an overview of the primary messaging pillars for Microsoft Teams, taken from recent marketing documentation. You may start with some of these pillars to introduce the demo, or incorporate talking points (in red font) into the demo at appropriate places.Trends in Collaborative TeamworkAs business becomes increasingly global and cross-functional, silos are breaking down, connectivity is increasing, and teamwork is becoming a key to organizational success. Employees are on twice as many teams as 5 years ago. The amount of time employees spend in “collaborative” work – in meetings, on phone calls or answering emails –

6

Page 7: Prerequisites - Microsoftmoddemodocs.blob.core.windows.net/resources-prod...  · Web viewThe amount of time employees spend in “collaborative” work ... such as Word, Excel,

has increased by about 50%. Perhaps even more significantly, this kind of work now takes up 80% or more of employees’ time. In addition, teams are increasingly a mix of employees and outside vendors. Teams have remote members, either working from home, on the road, or because they are in different geographical regions. This increase in the volume of collaboration and the diversity in scenarios has driven an appetite for specialized tools to address new teamwork scenarios.Introducing Microsoft TeamsMicrosoft Teams is a chat-based workspace in Office 365 that addresses these trends. Microsoft Teams gives team members easy access to the information they need in a dedicated hub designed from the ground up for teamwork. Here, people find their team chat, content, people and tools, all living together in Office 365. There are four key attributes of Microsoft Teams that help teams perform at their best:1-Chat for today’s teamsFirst, Microsoft Teams is a modern-day chat environment that keeps everyone in the know with complete chat history, whether across the team or in a private chat. People can see content and chat history anytime. Team chats and activities are visible to the entire team; private chats can be used for small group conversations. With web, desktop, and mobile versions, Microsoft Teams allows members to connect and communicate across devices. 2-A hub for teamworkIn Microsoft Teams, everything that team members need—chat, content, people, and tools—all live in the same team workspace. There is easy access to the everyday apps teams rely on daily for getting work done, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Because Microsoft Teams is integrated with Office 365, teams have quick access to the information they need, whether they are files shared through SharePoint or notes in OneNote.3-Customizable for each teamMicrosoft Teams is customizable for the way different teams work. You can easily tailor the workspace to include content and capabilities the team needs. For example, you can add new tabs to a channel for quick access to frequently used documents and cloud services like PowerPoint and Planner. Or, pull in connectors for third party tools like RSS, Trello, GitHub, and Asana. You can build custom integrations through Connector APIs, Microsoft bot framework, and public preview APIs.4-Security teams trustLastly, Microsoft Teams provides a great collaboration experience while upholding our commitments to safeguard customer and user data. Microsoft Teams was designed with compliance, authentication, and privacy in mind with support for industry standards, strong security measures including two-factor authentication, hard passwords, and access policies. Your data is always encrypted, whether it is chat, notes, or files. In short, it’s your data; you own it, and you control it.
