Rhyming
Tasks in this area encourage students to listen to parts of words and distinguish that words can sound the same and different. Rhyming requires students to listen for the beginning of a word (onset) and the vowel and consonant of the word (rime).
Make sure to include movement with the songs and rhymes as well. This can be a part of your everyday routine. Anything that you normally do with your child can always be put into song or turned into a rhyme.
