Why the statuette is called Oscar?

The most popular story is that Margaret Herrick, librarian and director of the Academy, after looking at the statuettes exclaimed:

“It looks just like my Uncle Oscar.”

Woody Allen

Woody Allen is a famous film director and he has total creative control. The actors who work in the Woody’s films are famous. He introduce their in the cinema’s world.

Woody says:I would like that the prizes represent something, but unfortunately the way which they organized it, I don’t believe that it serve for much. “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” the movie for me was history before the Oscar. I don’t need any prize, because the people like it and I’m grateful.

What I think about it

In my opinion the Oscars are important to recognize the actors’ tasks. The Oscars is a nice moment because the ceremony is a moment of unity for the world. But I think that in the Oscars they spend a lot of money that it is necessary to help a many people in the world.
