In this context, the economic slowdown has significantly increased the number of people in situation of poverty and exclusion, who have fewer resources available as they receive less social protection and fewer welfare benefits.

In addition, millions of children suffer in the other worst forms of child labor, including slavery and slavery-like practices such as forced and bonded labor and child soldiering, sexual exploitation, or are used by adults in illicit activities, including drug trafficking.
