    WHAT IS IT?CHARACTER, STRUCTURE, FORM

    The most important aspect was lightness,so the object would be still transportable.THereore we decided to use a special,oamy kind o concrete, which measures

    less in weight than wood itsel.

    A complete experience is essential to us.We want the Gallish to be organic andindustrial at the same time, and the hugecontrast between the exterior and interior

    will be the main attraction.

    Concrete is still mostly known as asolid, unriendly material. Still, we thinkthat it really is something magical, justlike a Frog Prince, who needs the right

    treatment to bring out the best reatures.

    STRUCTURE,

    The outer shape is a simple cube, adapting to the size o the windmillstructure above. The windows on the side and the top let the light inand also serves as an entrance. With this obejct we wanted to create anexperiemental answer or adapting to places. The application o oamconcrete even allows this object to foat on water. The combination o

    wood, conrete and organic materials is an interesting challenge to us,and we want to bring these closer to each other.

    SENSATIONIN AND OUT

    Inside the Gallish, the walls are covered with sot silicone threads, likea big nest. This pushes the contrast even urther between organic andindustrial, exterior and interior. The windmill generates energy thorughwind power and also solar power. Two or three poeple can stay inside atthe same time.

    MEASURES

    Gallish is a cube made o oam concrete, ramed by timbers. Outer dimensionsare 240 cm x 240cm x240cm, and in the center there is a elliptic/amorphicvoid. It is accessible rom the side.

    MEASURES

    The void is also open ro the top, where light can enter and the visitor can get a view. During Hellowoodestival, the Gallish carries the windmill, but later on, it ill transom into something dierent, with otherapplicatons and unctions.

    Shape

    Gall ish measures 2,40 m on each edge. The inner hollow shape is approximately el l ipt ic with c i rcular windows both on top and on s ide.The top gap opens towards the sky , and the one on the s ide serves as an entrance

    Dimensions

    The cube s deta i l s a re 2 ,40mx2,40mx2,40m. P lace i s 5 .74m2 , cub i c content i s 13 .824m3.

    Requiered materials

    The object s most important mater ia l is 13m3 polysteren oam, 12 t imber (a l l 10x10 cm thick and 240 cm long) , 6m3 o oam concrete,and cca 170 m sot s i l icone cord , which wi l l result a sot inter ior sur ace.The oam concrete used or the main object is 450 kg/m3 spe-c i ic gravi ty , moulded on a pla in sur ace. Dead load doesnt go over 3 tons .

    Frame structure

    THe i rst step is to bui ld the structure orm 10x10cm wide pine t imber , re inorced with steel corners . Then comes the ormwork around.To be able to l i t i t with a c rane and also to secure i t , a steel structure is necessary to put underneath. (this is made o 140mmx60m-mx4mm pro i les and 120mmx60mmx4mm pro i les in double-cross shape) . In addit ion , we need a 100mmx100mm size, 8mm steel net ,welded to the corners . Stat ics issues are under consultat ion .

    FormworkThe shell i s made o 2500mmx1000mmx21mm Doka 3-SO tables attached to the wooden structure, re inorced with 30mmx80mm pinetimber every 50cms. The inter ior exc lus ion is made o c losed cel l polystyrene, handvcarved, ixed by screwing, glueing and with spacers .

    Surface

    The outer sur ace car r ies the impr int o the wooden ormwork and also a previously des igned and cut graphic st icker pattern . The innersur ace is covered with thousands o s i l icone cord pieces glued into previously dr i l led holes .

    Transportat ion

    The our given points or c raning are placed on the top. Total weight is cca 3 tons with 5,76 m2 necessary sur ace.

    Waste

    The polystyrene used or the exc lus ion needs plast ic wrapping, a ter c leaning i t orm the bui lt structure i t i s co l lected into sacks andsto red sa e ly un t i l r ecyc l ing .

    SummaryGal l ish is a monoli thic concrete structure, with wooden raming on the edges , and a steel structure on the top and bottom. I ts mainmater ia l is oam concrete, which takes up 90% o total weight . The inner exc lus ion is made o extruded polytyrene oam, carved by hand.This wi l l be removed manually a ter the moulding. THe ormwork is mainly made o Doka 3-SO tabels , which gives impronts to the suaceo the concrete . The ormwork is screwed to tho wooden rames whi le moulding. Further outer reinormcement is appl ied too , and both onthe basis and the top we use 10cmx10cm timbers also . Transportat ion needs an individual c rane, c raning is so lved by our po ints on the

    top o the s t ruc ture , which i s a t tached to the bas i s too .
