HISTORY AND NECESSITY
HISTORY:-
I A ENERGY is a sister concern branch of GOEL Group of Companies. I A Energy means INDO ARYA ENERGY. It was built in 2002 in Shimla (H.P.). I A ENERGY CHANJU – I HEP 36 MW was the first project allotted to this company in the year 2005. It was allotted by former C.M. of Himachal Pradesh (Raja Virbhadar Singh).
NECESSITY:-
I. From the growth of peak demand and anticipated installed generation capacity , it is observed that power supply position in the Northern region would become all the more acute .
II. The most important source of power development in the Northern region is its abundant hydro resources located in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttranchal and Jammu & Kashmir. Chamba Hydro-electric Project is considered very attractive from point of view of deriving benefits during 11 th Five Year Plan

“RIBS” :-It is a steel structure provided at the start oftunnel. These are generally provided toprevent loose rock material from fallingdirectly on the working point. It is of D-shaped and is made up of I-section beam.
Tie rods are generally used to connect Ribs.Concrete mix M-20 is used for backfilling ofRibs.

SHOTCRETE1. It is concrete conveyed through a hose and pneumatically projected at high velocity onto a surface, as a construction technique. Shotcrete is usually an all-inclusive term that can be used for both wet-mix and dry-mix versions.
2. Shotcrete undergoes placement and compaction at the same time due to the force with which it is projected from the nozzle. It can be impacted onto any type or shape of surface, including vertical or overhead areas.

WETCRETE• It is concrete conveyed through a hose and pneumatically projected at high velocity onto
a surface, as a construction technique.
• In Wetcrete, water is added at the time of preparing mix.

ROCK BOLTING
1. A rock bolt is a long anchor bolt, for stabilizing rock excavations, which may be used in tunnels or rock cuts. It transfers load from the unstable exterior, to the confined (and much stronger) interior of the rock mass.
2. Cement Capsule and Resin Capsule are used during rock bolting.

RETAINING WALL / BREAST WALLBreast wall is constructed to protect sloping ground from the cutting actions ofweathering agents. The following salient points are note worthy :-
I. Because of increase of earth pressure with the depth of fill the section of breastwall increase from top to bottom.Generally the back of wall is stepped while the faceis kept vertical or inclined
II. Breast wall are some time provided with batter on both side .
III. Sufficient numbers of weep holes are provided all along the length as well asheight of the wall to drain off gravitational water of earth fill general rule is to provideatleast one weep hole for 3 sq m. of the surface .
IV. As a thumb rule the thickness of wall at any depth h below the fill level may bekept between 0.33 h to 0.4 h depending upon the condition of filled material

WEEPHOLES
Sufficient numbers of weep holes are provided all along the length as well as height of the wall to drain off gravitational water of earth fill.
General rule is to provide atleast one weep hole for 3 sqm. of the surface

TOTAL STATION
A Total Station is an electronic/optical instrument used inmodern surveying. The total station is an electronictheodolite (transit) integrated with an electronic distancemeter (EDM) to read slope distances from the instrumentto a particular point.
![Page 22: presentation of industrial training](https://reader033.vdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022042723/5884c0ee1a28ab34778b6d41/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
APPLICATION OF TOTAL STATIONI. Coordinates of unknown point relative to a known coordinates can be determined.
II. Angles and distances are measured
using total station.
iii. These are primary surveying device
used in mining survey.
