Introduction

What is garden furniture?

- An outdoor furniture or patio furniture.

- Designed for outdoor use.

- Typically made of weather resistant, water resistant materials.

- It needs to be periodically treated.

- Usually made from solid wood.- Commonly sold are made of plastic,

wood, aluminium, and iron.- The price for each of the garden

furniture varied according to the design and material used.

Theme and motive

Theme : Caterpillar

- The straight line pattern on the top of caterpillar body inspire the design concept.

- The design theme for the project is based on fauna. Motive : The main motive for designing the concept is to

encourage people to spend more time relaxing outdoor.

- Thus, it shows that it is important to care for the environment.

- The motive is to bring nature concept in daily life.

Material selection, tools and machineries

Material selections.-Resak boards are used as a material for the project.-The length of the board is ,width ,and thickness .-It has high density and mass.-It has attractive color.

-Other materials that were used for project were screws.-Screw were used to increase the joint between the furniture parts.

Tools.- Sand paper : To make the rough surface smooth.- Chisel : To remove unwanted parts (small parts).- L-shape ruler : To make a straight lines on the wood parts before cutting process.-

Machineries.

- Radial arm saw : To cut the wood into selected length.

- Drill machine : To make a small hole before inserting the screw.

-Planner machine : To get the final width of the wood parts.

- Thicknesser : To get the final thickness o the wood parts.

Target market

The target market for the garden furniture is for people that love nature.

Thus, it also for people who likes the natural color of wood.

Next, it also for those who likes relaxing outside the house.

The garden furniture is also suitable for those who likes simple life style and design.
