WHY WE CONDUCT THIS

– As per National Building Code Part 4 under Fire & Life Safety Norms, "Every occupant of any Group of Building has to perform Evacuation Drill once or twice in a year, whether it can be Fire/ Natural Disaster/ Mock.”

– If the total strength of occupant is less than 500 then Evacuation Drill must be done ONCE in a year,

– If the total strength of occupant is more than 500 then Evacuation Drill must be done TWICE in a year.

– To create Awareness – Immediate response when alarm discovered.

– Timely active participation of TERC (Tenant Emergency Response Coordinator), Floor Marshals & EMT specialists.

– Employees should know about the Safe methods of evacuation.

– Employees should know about the Escape Route.

– Employees should know about the route towards Safe Assembly Area.

EXPLANATION OF ABBREVIATIONS

AS PER SECTIONS

TERMS: TERC, FLOOR MARSHALS, EMT SPECIALIST & ERO

– Term TERC refers to Tenant Emergency Response Coordinator which is Single Point of Contact (S.P.O.C) for Landlord (Building Management Team) and their Internal team itself.

– Term Floor Marshals refers to a person or group of persons those are designated to assist the employees in case of emergency/assess the real time situation on their particular floor section and guide them towards the Safest route.

– Term EMT Specialist refers to Emergency Medical Treatment specialist per floor which is a part of internal team and co-relates for the assistance of Specially challenged persons/ pregnant ladies/ fainted persons etc.

– Term ERO refers to Emergency Response Officer which is assigned by Landlord team and responsible to ensure the safety of tenants as well as safe landing at the Safe Assembly Area.

PART - 2

MOCK DRILL – ION TRADING (INTERNAL OPERATION)– At the set point of time, alarm will be activated by the internal team with the means of emergency communication like to break the MCP

OR to provide smoke to any detector. Both means of communication generate alarm via Hooter.

– Immediately already assigned Floor Marshals will take their positions on each Fire Exit Door and open them for Evacuation of Employees FIRST.

– Without creating panic, employees will evacuate from their respective floors towards their assigned Safe Assembly Area by Landlord. ‘Please ensure that no one will use LIFTS in case of emergency.’

– As said before EMT Specialists will assist the Specially challenged persons/ pregnant ladies/ fainted persons etc. and assemble them at Safe Assembly Area; if in case of fainted or breathless patient, please refer them to our Ambulance – EMT Specialist.

– After complete Evacuation from floors, Floor marshals has to confirm the occupancy inside their respective floor per section and report it to their TERC.

– After that confirmation, if no one is found inside the floor then Floor Marshals will assemble at Safe Assembly Area.

– Head Counting will be done by Floor Marshals per floor section in Safe Assembly Area and submit it to their TERC and then TERC will communicate the Complete Number of Evacuees to ERO (Emergency Response Officer – Estate/Building Manager) In case of Night shift then please consider the Shift In charge – Engineering as an ERO.

MOCK DRILL – ION TRADING (SUPPORT FROM LANDLORD)– When alarm will be activated by the Tenant internal team, then immediately signal will be received

by the Landlord BMS Operator (Tower – 2)

– In BMS room we have set of trained professionals like BMS Operator, Lift Operator & Fire Officer/ Fire Technician round’ o clock.

– Operational activities of Landlord team (BMS Room) is already well defined.

– After receiving a Fire signal from your particular zone, immediately BMS Operator will pass the message to ERO and ERO will alert the complete team for tenant evacuation support, then BMS Operator will start the Evacuation announcement with the help of PA System.

– Complete ground team will support for the routing of your employees as well as will be available at Safe Assembly Area for your support.
