Rebbetzin Rivka
Rebbetzin Rivka was born in the city of Shklov on י' חשון. Her parents were Reb. Ahron and Rebbetzin Chaya Sara. She married the Rebbe Maharash, who was also her 1st cousin, on י''א ניסן. Her children were The Rashab, The Razoh, Reb. Menachem Mendel, and Rebbetzin Devorah Leah. Rebbetzin Rivka lost her father at a very young age. She passed away when she was 79, on .י' שבט תרע''ג
StoryStoryEveryday Rebbetzin Rivka and her family always davened
and then ate a very late breakfast. One day Rebbetzin Rivka became sick. She was told not to wait so long before eating breakfast. She thought she would wake up earlier and daven then, and afterwards she would eat breakfast and it would be earlier and not so late. But, she didn't realize that when she wakes up and davens 1st she is still waiting the same amount of time to eat breakfast. The her father in-law, told her that it's better to eat ,צמח צדקbreakfast in order to have the כח to daven as opposed to davening and only then eating breakfast. He also said that if she did this, he would say tehillim for her and she would have אריכת ימים. She continued to live until the age of 79.
Lesson that we learn fromLesson that we learn from Rebbetzin RivkaRebbetzin Rivka
To Daven with Kavana and always wanting to daven instead of resting and doing it later – Davening is everyones 1st priority.
Lesson that connects toLesson that connects to me personallyme personallyA lesson I learn from Rebbetzin Rivka that
connects to me personally is:1) To daven with a lot of kavana. 2) Never do anything before davening except for
washing negel vasser – having davening as 1 of my 1st priority’s.
3) When I have a thought-and someone says to do something that’s the opposite of my thought be kind and listen. If you disagree then explain.
The End
I hope you enjoyed my presentation about Rebbetzin Rivka, and I hope everyone can learn a lesson from this and work on trying to bring Moshiach Tzidkainu!
