CROSSWAY IDEAS & INNOVATIONS TO DELIVER ZERO HARM FOR BAM▪ Constant review of accidents to operatives and their causes across the industry

as analysed in the annual NASC Safety Report (Full Report can be downloaded from www.nasc.org.uk)

▪ Safety guidance notes are reviewed every 5 years by the NASC for example SG4:10 is currently under review and members have been requested to submit any recommendations or findings back for the report to be issued in Autumn this year.

▪ Best practice cascaded throughout the organisation from directors to managers to operatives and reverse performance reviews undertaken to obtain feedback

▪ Weekly operations meetings held internally between directors and managers to discuss current issues and address any problems that arise.

▪ Crossway have zero tolerance policy with regard to unsafe working. Everyone in the company is aware of their obligations to their own and others safety.

▪ Method Statements and Risk Assessments are continually checked to ascertain whether they are relevant to the specific task in hand.

▪ Great emphasis is placed on Crossway Managers visiting site teams and engaging with clients site management to ensure smooth planning of workloads.

HOW CAN BAM HELP • Early engagement with the subcontractor to

discuss upcoming projects either at tender stage or pre contract commencement – more time put in at this stage will ensure more accurate costs.

• Hold meetings to discuss requirements so thought can be put in and cost plans and draft designs can be produced.

• Give some visibility going forward as to future projects in the pipeline to allow time for planning workloads and resources.
