    SALIENT FEATURES

    It is a modular unit.

    Optimal community size plant: 100 m3capacity.

    Average Bio-gas production after 4-5 hoursduration : 80-100 m3

    Suitable for 40-50 families.

    All type of agro waste can be consumed.Presently we are using cow dunk (20%) and

    other agro-horticulture/other degradable wastewhat so ever available in the village exceptmud.

    Weekly feeding :1875 kg agro waste.

    Bio-gas production is almost similar in every

    season.

    Moisture, H2S &Co2 (major part) are scrubbed. Easier maintenance

    While burning, the pressure is standard & equal

    at each user point.

    Minimum chances of leakage.

    Use-ful life of project is approximate 20 year.

    It helps environment &help also in the

    cleanliness of village.

    Bio-gas in the Cylindersis stored at 300 psi

    pressure. It may be used for domestic

    power generation .

    Farmers/ users are transporting bio-gas

    through bio-gas balloon for their domestic/

    agricultural uses .

    TOTAL COST OF THE PROJECT

    Total cost of the 3 units : Rs.21,95,948.00

    Contribution from UNICEF: Rs.18,81,360.00

    Community contribution : Rs. 3,14,138.00

    Total no. of beneficieries : Rs. 123

    Per family total investment: Rs.17,853Note: The bio-gas facility may be extended

    to 25-30 more families .

    INITIATIVE OF U.P. GOVT.

    Replicating this Model into 200 different

    Villages/locations in the State.

    Bankable Model has been established.

    U.P. Govt.s contribution ( Proposed) : 25% ofthe project cost or maximum upto Rs. 5.00

    lakh

    Recasting of100 cubic meter plant including allaccessories for 50 families has been

    established it is be between Rs. 8.15-10.00

    AVAILABILITY OF AGRO-WASTE

    IN INDIA AND ITS IMPACT ON FUEL

    Annual availability : 500-600 million tons

    Potential of establishing bio-gas plants;

    (A) Individual : 1-4 m3 capacity: 30 million

    (B) Community Plant : 100 m3 : 0.68 million

    Equivalent energy : 6.341 Million Tons

    Kerosine.

    Value at present prices : Rs. 12682 Million

    BIO-ENERGY MISSIONS VISION-2015

    Our rural masses in U.P. shall be

    completely self-reliant in their energy

    needs for cooking and lighting.

    Our total sanitation schemes shall be

    majorly self propelled.

    Major farming activities would be based

    on organic inputs.

    Convergence with MNAREGA and other

    developmental schemes.
