What is Circuit Emulation over Packet?

|The basic idea is to "tunnel" a TDM circuit (e.g. E1/T1) through a packet-switched network

the TDM equipment at either end is unaware that theyare connected by anything other than a TDM network

the packet-switched network (PSN) is being used to emulate the behaviour of a TDM circuit
