II. PRESENT TRENDS IN CALL INTRODUCTION

In this part of my ppt presentation you will find some of the resources I have gathered over the

last three years on computer use in foreign language teaching / learning. Even though our FL department has already begun experimenting with the integration of

computers into our F.L. classes, I believe it is important to examine: FIRST,

The theoretical underpinnings of the use of technology in foreign language classes; AND ONLY THEN,

The resources already developed and available in this area. A tremendous and ever-growing number of sites and software already exist;

we don’t need to reinvent the wheel.we don’t need to reinvent the wheel.

I have included here results of studies and surveys that have shown that regular use of multimedia sites and software increases students’ language acquisition and performance. Furthermore, these same studies show that use of these powerful technologies meets the National Standards for Foreign Language Learning. I have also included practical information about relevant conferences and references. I would be more than happy to provide you more if you are interested.
