Common Core Standards (CCS) were developed by the National Governors Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers.

Content standards must be reviewed by the state once every seven years.

CCS were approved for adoption by BESE in 2010.

CCS are endorsed by Dell, State Farm, the U.S. Army, ACT, and Boeing.

CCS is embedded in rigorous content and application of knowledge through HOTS.

CCS address ELA and Mathematics only.

In Fall 2012, we will receive a Crosswalk and Grade Level Content Comparison Report.

In 2012-2013 and 2013-2014, we will follow the Transitional Louisiana Comprehensive Curriculum (LCC) in ELA and Mathematics.

The LDOE will identify the GLEs in our current curriculum that best align to those in the CCS.
