What is Real-‐Time LMI?
• Intelligence derived from the analysis of online job postings from public and private labor exchanges
• Based on data that is “scraped” (or “spidered”) from the Internet on a daily basis
• Can provide: – Supply and demand trends – Emerging occupations – Current and emerging skill requirements – Market-based demand for credentials

Some Take Aways
• Real-time LMI provides pieces missing from traditional LMI and is a cost-effective supplement.
• Real-time LMI is useful and actionable for a variety of community college staff at all levels: institutional, instructional, job development, and counseling.
• Real-time LMI is also directly useful to the students! • As with any research or data, initial and follow-up
coaching is important to ensure that the data are used to their fullest potential.
