Presenter’s Notes:
Some of the following slides don’t make much sense out of the context of the 2007 InfoTubey Awards Program. As with all of the fabulous informative sessions at CIL, in order to get the most out of them, you had to be there! Herewith is a little elaboration.
TechMan is D. Scott Brandt, who is the traditional host of the CIL evening session, who couldn’t be here this year. Big shoes for me to fill as the emcee this year; it was certainly fun doing it. Whether or not I lived up to his high standards of quality entertainment and lively steerage of the session … well, again, you had to be there to decide. And of course, Stephen Abram (who also could not attend) is a longstanding member of the evening session panel, whose presence was certainly missed. Our panel did an excellent job providing pithy commentary, thoughtful introductions of our InfoTubey winners, lively interpretive dance, and plenty o’ yuks to boot.
The slides with the photos and the bands were all about my hijacking of the podium to relate a still stunning coincidence at CIL 2006, when I - as a panelist - mentioned some of the music I was listening to; and one of the librarians in attendance happened to be the mother of the bass player of The Hush Sound. Again, you had to be there!
There are links to a three other videos that were not InfoTubey winners, but we felt needed to be shown (March of the Librarians, Gutenberg tech support, and Ninja Librarian).
The rest of the slides are self-explanatory. They feature links to the winning InfoTubey YouTube productions. We hope you enjoy them as much as we did! For additional photo coverage of the event, please visit InfoTodayBlog.com.

“Video learning and interaction with information is an emerging direction for libraries to involve [themselves] with in a number of ways.
Having a place in YouTube (similarly in Second Life and other virtual realms), recognizing YouTubing as a means of communication, and understanding that this can be a means for teaching information consumers is a big part of Librarian 2.0.”
