NeWS from tHe muSeumJENNIFER STANCIL, President and CEOHappy New Year! We are jumping into 2018 with an exciting line-up of programs, special events, and monthly themes designed to ignite imagination and spark curiosity! Arrgh you ready for a pirate invasion? All January, we’re celebrating Mutiny at the Museum, a nod to Tampa’s Gasparilla heritage filled with pirate-themed parades, treasure maps, great storytelling, and more.

After our voyage, we will land in a February full of new programs and some sweet favorites too! Our throw-back month will begin with celebrating the classic children’s game, Candy Land, our new twist on Valentine’s Day with board games, a little candy, and a lot of fun for the family. Then, we’re bringing back our Grown Up Night with a game night for our adult friends and the Gasparilla Kids Film Series with a free movie on the lawn!

Then return for Math + Music + March as we get back to our square roots, feel the rhythm of musical performances, and conquer math challenges. You won't want to miss our 2nd annual Pi Day to celebrate Albert Einstein, math, and 3.14 with an epic pie fight set to the tune of Mozart! Also, make sure to register your little learner for Camp Imagination: Spy School, where budding secret agents learn to decipher hidden messages. GCM will round out the month with an unforgettable Gasparilla Music Festival Kids Fest with blockbuster headlining act the Imagination Movers and our annual Egg Hunt with thousands of hidden eggs, the Easter Bunny, and more.

Developmental CheckupsFebruary 13 | March 13 The Museum and Champions for Children have partnered to offer developmental checkups for children ages 36 months and under. During a checkup, parents meet with child development professionals to explore fun learning activities and to test a child’s benchmarks with the Ages & Stages Questionnaire. All checkups are included with admission but must be pre-registered at GlazerMuseum.org/developmentalcheckups

CBHC Free TuesdaysJanuary 2 | February 6 | March 6, Noon-7pm The Children’s Board of Hillsborough County proudly presents free admission on the first Tuesday of every month, from Noon-7pm. Join the Glazer Children’s Museum along with partners CBHC and PBS Affiliate for free family fun every month.

Parents of children ages 0-12 are invited to meet a clinician to learn how to encourage positive behavior at home and become confident in their parenting style.
