Anne Hargrave Anne is a consultant with the Family Business Consulting Group. She works with family shareholders to develop and assess business and family governance structures, and to

create processes for effective decision-making. Drawing on more than 20 years of experience as a strategic advisor, she was a founding partner of Wealthbridge Partners and Generational Coaching, a managing director at Family Office Exchange, and a senior executive at Rockefeller & Co. She helps clients design a vision for their future, strengthen relationships and create action plans to turn goals into reality. When speaking at the Institute for Private Investors, IIR, the Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence, or the FOX Forum, she focuses on risk man-agement, educating the next generation and sustaining wealth.

David Lansky, Ph.D. A principal consultant with the Family Business Consulting Group, David advises entre-preneurial families, families of wealth, and multigenerational families with shared business

or financial interests. Many of his clients have family offices or private trust companies, and all want to plan well for the future, enhance communication, improve family relationships, and become more successful in family and busi-ness endeavors. Well-known for his expertise in the psychology and family dynamics of

multigenerational wealth, David is a member of The Private Wealth Advisors Study Group, and on the Advisory Board of the NMS Family Office Forum. He holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from Rutgers University and has a background in family therapy.

Wendy Sage-Hayward, M.A., FEA An adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business, Wendy has 25 years of experience working with business leaders, family firms and boards of directors.

A leader in education and programming for business families and their advisors, she teaches at the Business Families Centre at Sauder and consults with the Family Business Consulting Group. Serving clients across a diverse variety of industries, Wendy facilitates meaningful conversations with members of multiple generations on matters relating to firm continuity, next generation preparation, governance and conflict resolution. With a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from UBC, she has recently completed a post-graduate program in the Neuroscience of Leadership from Middlesex University and holds a Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA) designation. A member of a 128-year-old family enterprise herself, Wendy is one of the directors of the board of her family enterprise which has about 40 partners in the cousin consortium stage of her family firm.

David C. Bentall As an adjunct professor at the Sauder School of Business, David has taught undergraduate and graduate courses on family

enterprise since 2007 and courses for both busi-ness families and their advisors. He received a Teaching Excellence Award for his work in 2010. A graduate of Harvard Business School and the University of British Columbia, he has spent 20 years with his own family firm, increasing annual sales from $150 million to almost $300 million while he served as President and CEO. He subsequently founded his own firm, Next Step Advisors, and now provides consulting and coaching to family enterprises. A Certified Professional Coach with the International Coaches Federation and a Family Business Advisor with the Family Firm Institute, David also co-founded the Business Families Centre and sat as Founding Chair from 2001-2006.

Ruth Steverlynck, LLB, FEA

A specialist in Business Family Governance, Ruth uses her knowledge and skills to better-facilitate dialogue among family firm members, build and

repair trust, and manage family conflicts. Previ-ously a Vice-President of Wealth Services at BMO Harris Private Banking, she ran the Centre for Entrepreneurs and Family Business while working with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Currently, she is a Principal with Your Family Enterprise Inc. Ruth

holds an honors law degree from the Univer-sity of Edinburgh, an FEA designation from the Institute of Family Enterprise Advisors as well as certificates and diplomas in Mediation, Conflict Management, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Family Governance.
