Scenario: However, you quickly realise that the fish will soon go off and you must preserve them. You have noticed closeby a mouth of a river which runs into the sea. You can now gather saltwater with your bucket.

Mar 1414:19

Scenario: Luckily, you have gathered some water and fortunately did not drown in the ferocious currents. You know that water contains salt but how do you get the precious salt separated from the water so that you can use it to preserve your fish?

Experiment time!

Equipment at your disposal:

salty water

saucer

sunlight as heat source

Prediction:

• How long will it take to evaporate?

• What will happen when the water has gone? Why?
