Dear Members, Many thanks for your continued patience and support in implementing the health protocol to prevent covid-19 outbreak. I sincerely hope everyone is staying healthy facing this pandemic. The Club continues to monitor the situation and adjusting to the changes in day to day operation if needed in direct response to Covid-19. The management is keeping our club sanitised and has sprayed disinfectant to all areas everyday, while conducting course maintenance program regularly on and off course. The annual shareholders’ meeting was held right after the Founders’ Cup Tournament on August 22, 2020. We proudly introduce our new President Commissioner, Mr. Fransiscus Welirang and Mr. Candra Ciputra as one of our commissioners. The new monthly medal with online prize giving has attracted more participants since we launched in June 2020, and still on schedule until last September. The new activity to introduce golf to the beginner and youth generation, Ciputra Golfpreneur Foundation conducted Family Fun Golf Competition Driving & Short Game Contest at PIK Course with strict health protocol applied and has received many positive feedback from the participants. Once again thank you to our dear and valued members for your kind attention and stay healthy, stay exercise.

The Annual Shareholders’ Meeting (RUPS) of Damai Indah Golf this year took place at the BSD Course on Saturday, August 22, 2020. The meeting was held right after the Founders’ Cup Tournament. Damai Indah Golf - PIK Course, 1 – 15 August 2020

Ciputra Golfpreneur Foundation held a Family Fun Golf Competition & Short Game Contest from 1 – 15 August 2020 at Damai Indah Golf, PIK Course with strict health protocol. This new activity to introduce golf to youth generation and also to the beginner. Golf is getting popular among the youngs as one the safe sport and activity during pandemic. We had received positive feedback and will have a regular schedule for next year.

Letak lubang sangat menentukan tingkat kenyamanan permainan golf. Lokasi lubang kerap menjadi pembahasan setelah bermain golf,bahkan ada yang mengatakan lokasi hole illegal. Pemindahan lubang di green sebenarnya adalah pekerjaan yang sederhana jika dilakukan oleh staff terlatih, yang menjadi sulit adalah ketika harus menentukan dimana lubang harus diletakkan, karena melibatkan banyak factor yang harus dipertimbangkan. Karakter green di BSD yang bergelombang menjadi tantangan tersendiri dalam membuat posisi lubang yang fair karena terbatasnya area yang bisa dijadikan sebagai lokasi lubang.

The location of the hole determines the level of comfort in playing golf. Hole location is often discussed after a round of golf, some even say the location of the hole is illegal. The The replacement of holes on the green is actually a simple task, if it is done by trained staff, this task becomes difficult when it comes to determining where the holes should be placed, as it involves many factors to consider. The undulating green character in BSD is a challenge to place the hole on fair position because of the limited area that can be used as a hole location.

Sebenarnya bagaimana aturannya untuk menentukan posisi lubang dan apa kritertia untuk menyatakan posisi lubang sebagai “unfair” atau illegal ? USGA Rules tidak mencantumkan aturan yang specific bagaimana penempatan hole, USGA mencantumkan panduan sebagai berikut.

Actually, what are the rules for determining the location of a hole and what are the criteria for declaring a hole’s position as “unfair” or illegal? The USGA Rules do not include specific rules on how to place holes, the USGA only lists the following guidelines.

An area two to three feet in radius around the hole should be in good condition without any steep slopes or, if possible, any changes in the degree of slope. In other words, the green in the holing-out area should be as nearly level as possible and of uniform grade, but it need not be exactly level. In no case should holes be located in tricky places or on sharp slopes where a ball can gather speed. A player above the hole should be able to putt with a reasonable degree of boldness, and not purely defensively.!

Untuk mengadopsi panduan tersebut, berikut ini adalah hal kami pertimbangkan dan lakukan di BSD course dalam menentukan posisi lubang.

To adopt this guide, the following are things we consider and do on the BSD course in determining the position of the holes.

1. Memberikan ruang yang cukup untuk bola menggelinding, sehingga kami menetapkan jarak lubang dari pinggir green minimal 4 m. Allow enough space for the ball to roll, so we set the hole distance from the edge of the green at least 4 m.

2. Memperhitungkan green speed untuk menentukan area yang bisa digunakan untuk penempatan lubang. Kami menggunakan kurva hubungan green speed dan slope dibawah ini. To consider the green speed in determine the area that can be used as hole location. We use the green speed and slope relationship curve below.

3. Green speed di BSD course berkisar antara 9,5 – 10,5 feet maka area yang bisa digunakan adalah yang memiliki kemiringan maksimal 2,3 derajat.Kami menggunakan alat BreakMaster (yang direkomendasikan oleh Asian Tour dan Tour Sanction besar lainnya) untuk menentukan derajat kemiringan di lokasi lubang, Kermudian kami memetakan area yang kemiringannya dibawah 2,3 derajat sebagai area yang dapat ditempatkan lubang untuk setiap green.

Green speed on the BSD course ranges from 9.5 - 10.5 feet, so the area that can be used as hole location is the area with a maximum slope of 2.3 degrees. We use the BreakMaster tool (recommended by the Asian Tour and other major Tour Sanctions) to determine the degree of tilt at the hole location. Then we mapped the area below 2.3 degrees as the pinable area for each green.

5. Penempatan hole yang baik akan memungkinkan golfer memakai club berbeda untuk setiap approach shot, oleh karena itu kami menempatkan staff yang bermain golf untuk membuat hole.

Good hole placement will allow the golfer to use a different club for each approach shot, therefore the staff who set up the hole should play golf.

6. Kecepatan permainan juga menjadi pertimbangan, pin yang sulit akan membuat lambatnya penyelesaian di green, sehingga pada week end, pin sengaja di buat sangat mudah, sedangkan dihari biasa lebih bervariasi.

7. Lokasi lubang harus berada pada kondisi rumput yang baik, bebas dari ball mark, bekas lubang lama yang belum sembuh dan kerusakan lain.

Apakah Anda memukul bola dengan penerbangan kiri-ke-kanan? Anda mungkin memukul bola dengan jalur luar ke dalam selama ayunan turun (lihat gambar).

Do you hit the ball with a left-to-right flight? You are probably hitting the ball with an outside to inside path during the downswing (see picture).

Place your headcover near your driver (see picture). Do not hit the headcover during your downswing. If you are still hitting the headcover then you are still swinging out-side-in. Miss the headcover and watch your ball flight improve.

EMBEDDED BALL IN THE ROUGH

Golfer sekarang diperbolehkan untuk mengambil bola tertanam di mana saja di “area umum” (kecuali di pasir). “area umum” adalah definisi baru dari “through the green”. “through the green” berarti setiap bagian dari lapangan golf yang bukan pasir. Golfer diharapkan untuk drop tanpa penalti dalam 1 club panjang tidak mendekati lubang.(lihat gambar).

Golfers now are allowed to take relief for an embedded ball anywhere in the “general area” (except in sand). “general area” is the new defintion of “through the green”. “through the green” means any part of the course that is not sand. Golfers are entitled to a free drop within 1 club length not nearer to the hole (see picture).

1. Members may make bookings for tee times up to two weeks in advance.

2. Booking should be made by fax whenever possible and the booking office will confirm by fax. The booking office opening hour Monday through Friday : 08.00-17.00 Saturday : 08.00-12.00 Sunday & public holiday : Closed Direct telephone : (021) 537-0285 Direct fax : (021) 537-0282

3 Members is able to book for other members by fax. The member making the booking for the other member (s) assumes responsibility for any “no show” penalties, should those other members “no-show up”.

4. On Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays, members are welcome to bring up to a maximum three accompanied guests or other members, with minimum three (3) golfers in one (1) flight. These bookings must be done by fax. Phone booking cannot be confirm until a fax booking request has been received from the members.

5. Single or 2-ball players will not be allowed to book. In must cases, if they come to the course we will be able to pair with other around of less than 4 players.

6. On weekends and public holidays, only members with official DIG handicaps not exceeding 28 are allowed to play before 11.00.

7. Cancellations must be made by fax within 72 hours of the booked tee time. Any cancellations after that time will result in a no-show penalty.

8. No-show by a Member will result in a written notice on the first offence and any subsequent no-shows will result in a penalty or charge of three accompanied Guest green fee per flight booked.
