This is the first school performance for a while and the first whole school performance for an even longer while. A very busy organising committee has been planning and preparing for at least two evening performances and a matinee in the third week of next term. We invite family and friends to share afternoon tea from 1pm—1.30pm and then classrooms will be open for you to browse through and spend some time with your children and their teachers. Tea, coffee and yummy treats will be available from the canteen for purchase for afternoon tea. P & C Meeting Hope to see many of you at next Monday night’s P & C meeting at 7pm in the staffroom—everyone’s welcome. It would be great to see some more dads too! Rule of the Week This week’s rule is “Take notes home”. When teachers give you notes or a newsletter, take them home, take them out of your bag and give them to your parents. The reason for this request is to increase the likelihood of your parents having enough notice of excursions, performances and important dates to be able to get organised with payments, transport etc. There may be only four or five people in your family to organise but there are about 500 in our school family and it takes a lot more to keep on top of things. Hope you had a great week at our great school and your children learned lots about getting along with others from the anti-bullying performance held yesterday! School Performance

Students are rehearsing for their upcoming roles in the school performance of “Waltzing Kincumba”. This is the first school performance for a while and the first whole school performance for an even longer while.

A very busy organising committee has been planning and preparing for at least two evening performances and a matinee in the third week of next term. Details about ticketing and dates will be advertised in next week’s newsletter.

Every child in the school is involved in the performance and it will be professionally videoed and DVDs will be available for sale after the event.

Bucket loads of my thanks go to the organising committee whose animated but productive weekly meetings have ensured that this will be a fabulous experience.

The school performance has been planned as our Education Week celebration. However, an opportunity for you to visit classes will be made available on Monday 1 August. We invite family and friends to share afternoon tea from 1pm—1.30pm and then classrooms will be open for you to browse through and spend some time with your children and their teachers.

Tea, coffee and yummy treats will be available from the canteen for purchase for afternoon tea.

while developing confidence and community responsibility. As well as weekly

meetings they go camping and enjoy weekend and holiday adventure days and

excursions. Kincumber has a Junior Guide Unit which meets on Thursdays, at

Kincumber Youth Centre from 4.30pm - 6.00pm (6-10yr olds). Your daughter is very

welcome to come along for a free visit. Please phone 4328 3247 or 0438 283 247

for further details.

Bullying is cruel and can cause injuries like broken bones and broken noses. We shouldn’t bully people because it hurts them and practically scars them for life and they will never forget it. Older children tend to bully people without knowing little or younger kids are around them and they copy what the older children do. Caitlin H, Ashley and Emily

On Wednesday the 15th June, Kincumber PS watched a performance called “The Human Race”. We enjoyed the part on the last scene where Dunc had to fluff in an invention that Dee Dee invented. We also liked his talent on lists. Lisa, Canley and Jessica

On the 15/6 we had the human race anti bullying performance. It tells the younger kids what to do if people bully them. It also tells bullies what they are doing to the victims and that a lesson in life is “What goes around comes around”. Harrison, Tyler and Joel V

Today on the 15/6/11, stage 2 and 3 went to a very informative perform-ance that taught us about cyber bullying. We learnt that photos on websites can have consequences. We also learnt many other things that we can use in everyday life. It was very enjoyable. Maddie, Ava and Katie

On the 15/6/11 we saw the “Human Race” anti-bullying performance. We thought that they showed many different types of bullying like cyber bully-ing, verbal bullying and physical bullying. They also told us that you need to be 13 and over to be on facebook and some of your friends could be older than you, so you need to be safe. Michael, Keegan, Denver and Jake

Bullying is not nice and it turns people back from what they were wanting to do. There are a lot of different bullying types like cyber, physical, exclu-sion and many more. Every type of bullying can hurt people even just the tiniest bit no matter what you say, so don’t say it at all! Bullying can affect people on the skin colour, hair colour, clothes and religion. When people bully it makes them not want to go to school. Joel KM, Drue, James and Corey

We thought that the human race was enjoyable and taught us more about bullying and how other people are affected in different ways. We also thought that it was funny and we would think that people would take it in and stick up for themselves. Kirra, Jamie and Caitlin F

Cyber bulling is caused on phones and computers. You can see bullying on facebook, twitter and msn. If a kid wants your lunch money and you say no, we learnt to stand up for ourselves or ask a teacher for help. You have to be older than 13 to have facebook, because people can be bullying peo-ple who don’t have facebook. Chloe, Isobel and Tayah
