Influence for Good For 75 years the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) has worked to honor God

by connecting and representing evangelical Christians in the United States. Founded in

1942, the NAE represents more than 45,000 local churches from 40 different

denominations and serves a constituency of millions. In addition to denominations, its

membership includes leading Christian nonprofits, schools, churches and individuals. The

NAE seeks to be an Influence for Good as it works to make denominations strong and

effective, impact society for righteousness and justice, and gather the many voices of

evangelicals together to be more effective for Jesus Christ and his cause.

Evangelicalism is a vibrant and diverse group of “good news” people, including believers of all races and ethnicities found in many churches, denominations and nations. In the midst of this dynamic and diverse community, the NAE holds a singular place. It brings together an unmatched rich diversity of Christ followers and speaks with a constructive voice of hope and unity. The NAE provides networking and enrichment opportunities for evangelical leaders, endorses and trains military and institutional chaplains, provides resources to inspire and equip ministry leaders, winsomely advocates for evangelical concerns in public policy, and empowers pastors to minister out of a place of financial health. Due to the breadth and diversity of the membership, the NAE is regularly consulted by the religious and secular press, government officials and leaders with influence. Nearly every day, requests for connection, advice and direction come in from evangelicals and those of other (or no) faith persuasions. The NAE Statement of Faith (unchanged since 1943) is the gold standard of evangelicalism and is widely used by evangelical organizations. The NAE is connective tissue for evangelicalism. More people come to the “What is an Evangelical?” page on the NAE website than any other page. The NAE has the unique opportunity to speak into that question and many others, as we share the “good news” story that informs the public understanding of our community and inspires evangelicals to live winsomely and faithfully.

Every family needs a kitchen table. The National Association of Evangelicals

serves as convener and organizer and switchboard and shaper. It gives to the

evangelical world and beyond a much-needed influence.

NAE Mission The mission of the National Association of Evangelicals is to honor God by connecting and representing evangelical Christians.

NAE Statement of Faith We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
