PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
This date, May 10th, I celebrate my 10 years in Rotary and want to acknowledge it by treating the club to dinner. Phil will provide our din-ner on the patio and I will pick up the bill. It will also coincide with the induction of our new member, JoAnn Sprenkel.
I invited our DGA Roberta Picket but she will be out of town and unable to attend.
The time spent in Rotary made me aware of the importance of the organization, hereby I think of the themes offered by the RI Presidents during all those years, they have been a real source of inspiration for me.
When I was invited to join Rotary, the RI presidential theme was: Service Above Self
The theme throughout the years were:
2006-2007 Lead the Way
2007-2008 Rotary Shares
2008-2009 Make Dreams Real
2009-2010 The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands
2010-2011 Building Communities, Bridging Continents
2011-2012 Reach Within to Embrace Humanity
2012-2013 Peace Trough Service
2013-2014 Engage Rotary Changing Lives
2014-2015 Light Up Rotary
2015-2016 Be a Gift to the World
I sincerely tried to live in the spirit of the themes but mostly in Service Above Self. Coming to the end of my term, I am grateful to my fellow club members for the honor to have me contemplated with the presidency of our club.
And after the last day of June, I will go on being a Rotarian the best way I can in Rotary Serving Humanity.
I hope to see you all at the patio dinner coming Tuesday.
Yours in Rotary
Irene
