CHURCH OF ST. NICHOLAS

It is the gothic building from the year 1230. The church has been engulfed by fire several times during its existence. In 1950 has been reconstructed. It is 54.7m long, 34m wide and 16m high, the Church of St. Nicholas in Prešov is one of the most beautiful monumental late-Gothic structures in Slovakia.

CALVARY

It has built in 18th century. All complex of Calvary involves 14 chapels, catacombs and cemetery.

NEPTUNE´S FOUNTAIN

It is the oldest fountain in Prešov. It has made in 1789. This fountain is the only one preserved cistern of Prešov.

PURLIF OF CARAFF

It is late ghotic building from 16th century. Today it´s used as town hall.

SALTERN

It is the national culture rezervation and one of the most outstanding technical monument in Slovakia. It was used for drawing and making salt. Areal of saltern is unique complex technical-technology and other objects. In this area, this saltern hasn´t competitor in Slovakia.

1. FC Tatran Prešov - History

1. FC Tatran Prešov is a Slovak football team in the city of Prešov. Tatran Prešov is the oldest football team in Slovakia. First match was played on the 25th May 1898. It called "Green and Whites" . Tatran played 32 seasons in the Czechoslovakian top division, 6 seasons in the Slovak second division and 10 seasons in the Slovak top division. It won Czechoslovakian cup and Slovak cup. The best player in history was Ladislav Pavlovič. He shot 164 goals in Prešov.

1. FC Tatran Prešov – At the moment

1. FC Tatran Prešov finished in the Slovak top division the seventh. It is succeed, because Tatran won second division last year and advanced to top first division after six years. The best shooter in our team was Petet Katona. He shot 7 goals. The biggest problem was with goalkeepers. Miloš Buchta was the biggest disappointment. Roman Pivarník is a coach.

Tatran Prešov

Tatran Prešov is the best handball team in Slovakia. Team was founded in year 1952. Tatran won 3 titles in Czechoslovakian league, 1 title in Czechoslovakian league HIL, 5 titles in Slovak league , 4 times won Czechoslovakian cup and 13 times won Slovak cup. Tatran haven´t rival at the moment. It all win and win. The best players are Jakub Krupa, Marián Huňady, Radovan Pekár, Peter Tumidalský and Radoslav Kozlov. Rastislav Trtík is a coach.

HC Prešov 07

HC Prešov 07 is a hockey team in the city of Prešov. . Team was founded in year 1928. First match was played in January 1931. In year 1932 won Master Slovakia. The best players in history was Igor Liba, Ján Vodila, Martin Štrbák, René Pucher, Peter Pucher and Jaroslav Obšut. Prešov is playing in the second league at the moment. Petr Kremen and Igor Liba are the coachs.
