Our team is going to be called BGS Racing. You have been left in charge of every aspect
and have been asked to make it a success.

To do this you have to create some new documents in order to raise money and help the team.

First, lets find out how to use PAINT.NET

You MUST try the program out! Can you find out what the tools do? LAYERS – this is a way of building up an
image in sections… one layer at a time Follow the next slidesFollow the next slides and create the
picture shown…

Use the PAINT BUCKET and fill the background blue
Then click on LAYERS, then click NEW LAYER

Select the rectangular drawing tool
Select green Select the
DRAW FILLED SHAPE option
Draw the green rectangle
See, it is shown on layer 2 (The “Background” is layer 1)
Add another NEW LAYER

Use the PAINTBRUSH tool
Set the BRUSH WIDTH to somewhere between 10 and 15
Add some trees to the new layer!
Add another NEW LAYER

Select the PRIMARY colour as dark green
Select the SECONDARY colour as blue to match the sky
Select FILL as 75%
“Spray” on the leaves
Add another NEW LAYER

Using the RECTANGLE tool, LINE tool, FILL tool you can create the house on one layer!
(You could use a layer for the bricks, then a layer for the windows etc!)
No CLOUDS! Click on the BACKGROUND layer

PRIMARY is white, SECONDARY is grey
Select the PAINTBRUSH
Select 20% Use the LEFT
mouse button and then the RIGHT mouse button and spray on the clouds!
You will see you CAN’T destroy the trees because they are on a different layer!

Now to make it look a bit better using EFFECTS
On the BACKGROUND layer, use this GAUSSIAN BLUR to blend the clouds
Move to LAYER 3 and do the same for the trees!

Now go to LAYER 3 with the trees
Select the EFFECT for UNFOCUS to take the trees out of focus

SAVE IT! Now we will
save it again as a JPG
You will have to select FLATTEN as you save it!
Then I want you to INSERT this picture (JPG) into a WORD document… does it look ok?
