Solutions Xyleme LCMS Xyleme LCMS (Learning Content Management System) is a fully integrated environment for authoring, managing, and publishing XML-based online courseware, instructor-led materials, mobile learning products, and performance support tools. It is the industry’s most efficient content development platform for rapid authoring and rapid reuse across any print or digital format. Content is created once as reusable learning objects that can be effortlessly repurposed and reassembled into custom training content with outputs to print, Web, E-reader, mobile or tablet formats. Xyleme LCMS provides a rich, web-based interface for an effortless authoring experience and a consistent and structured authoring process, designed to promote high-quality training materials.

Bravais Bravais is Xyleme’s cloud-based solution to deliver personalized learning to any device. It liberates your content from traditional learning management systems, and learners are able to create their own personalized learning experiences. Furthermore, learners can access content in Bravais the way they want to; from within their favorite media channels on the devices of their choice. Deliver content from Bravais to any LMS, the Pastiche Store, internal social collaboration apps such as Jive or Confluence, or external networks such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Google+. Lastly, Bravais allows you to know if your content is effective through comments and user ratings, and tracks how users consume and interact with your learning content, providing you with powerful analytics.

Pastiche Pastiche is a turnkey solution that allows you to rapidly assemble existing textbooks, interactive multi-media, test prep, and moment-of-need support materials and publish them on-demand to any number of customizable and privately branded iPad or Android apps. The Pastiche ecosystem is made up of three components: the Pastiche tablet app, a set of authoring and publishing tools, and the Pastiche Store. The Pastiche Store is a hosted content distribution platform to provide your users seamless yet controlled access to your learning catalog. An intuitive Web admin interface allows you to upload new or updated products and gives you the ability to make them available on a per-user, per-group, or public basis.

FAQ How long will it take to learn how to use the software? Typically an instructional designer or writer can become proficient in our Learning Content Management System with a few days of training. This makes our solution sound very complicated to use – this is a point that our competition points out in every sales engagement. A SME, or person assigned a task to complete, can become proficient in a day. The IDs / Admins take a few days of training.

What standards do you support? Support for standards: SCORM, AICC, XLIFF, PENS, Common Cartridge, QTI, ePub, HTML/HTML5, PDF

Are you 508C-compliant? In Xyleme LCMS, you can create outputs that are 508C-compliant. However, the Xyleme LCMS user interface

is not 508C-compliant.

What types of video, animation and audio are supported? Any type of rich media can be included. A media object can store print, web, mobile, and other renditions such that when the media object is used within a print publication, the print rendition is used. When the media object is used in a web publication, the web rendition is used, and so on. Any media asset can be imported and used, and we can import other XML data types including DITA and QTI.

What about content migration – can PowerPoint or Word be converted to XML? Yes, Both Word and PowerPoint can be converted into XML. This is a standard feature of the software. For PowerPoint, each slide will automatically create its own XML topic with the text extracted and images stored in the media repository. Word conversion may require customization depending on the structure and consistency of the source documents.

How do you handle language translation? There is a workflow process that allows you to manage the full cycle for internal or external translation processes. If you use third-party tools or services, you can export content for translation using the XLIFF standard and then import it back into a language-specific folder after the update. We provide visibility into the changes between versions in the master language, both of these help to lower translation costs.

How is versioning handled? Whenever you check-in any content, version history tracks the changes. This is true at every level of granularity, whether it is a topic, lesson, or course. At any time, you can roll back to a prior version if necessary.
