SECURITY The DIAMANT process® guarantees each closure, individually. Through an exclusive patented cork "de-aromatisation" process, Diam®, Mytik Diam® and Altop Diam® are the only cork closures completely sensory neutral, free from the molecules causing organoleptic deviations including TCA which is responsible for cork taint.(Releasable TCA ≤ 0,3 ng/l).

CONSISTENCY For each product in the range, the moulding process - also patented - ensures the same physical characteristics for all closures. It guarantees perfect regularity on the bottling line and consistent ageing.

ADAPTABILITY Diam® closures are designed to meet all expectations regarding the evolution of the wine, the varietal expression and the laying-down period. Available in different levels of permeability, Diam® closures ensure a consistent Oxygen Transfer Rate throughout bottle aging.

STILL WINESWith a range of products, from the Diam 1 to the Diam 30, the winemaker now has the choice from a range of closures where he/she can choose the one that best suits his/her wine. Each Diam® closure is defined by its mechanical characteristics and different levels of permeability.

SPARKLING WINES In addition to the absence of sensorial deviations, Mytik Diam® closures offer the winemaker an exemplary mechanical memory and the absence of technical defects. Preventing dry veins, cork hardening, disc separation as well as pegged corks... It preserves the quality of fine sparkling wines and in particular grand Champagnes.

SPIRITS Each Altop Diam® closure is unique: the result of a personalized study, it is tailor-made to adapt to the particularities of each bottle neck. Its original formulation is reputed to provide the correct balance between elasticity and tightness.

THE PROCESS: CONTROLLED MANUFACTURING

MATURATION, BOILING, GRINDINGAfter a 6 to 12 months drying period, the raw cork is washed in boiling water then crushed before densiometry is used to fil-ter the ground cork. Only the suberin, the noblest part of the bark is kept.

THE DIAMANT® PROCESSThis patented and environmentally-friendly process uses supercritical CO2 to extract the compounds that cause sensory devia-tions from the cork, including the infamous cork taint (TCA).

MOULDINGTo ensure perfect consistency and control over the ageing of our closures, micro-spheres exclusive to our range of products are added to the ground cork. Water and a binding agent are also added, the mixture is then moulded and cooked in the kiln.

CONTROLSEach batch of closures is subjected to strin-gent quality controls when leaving the fac-tory, on arrival in each finishing centre and again after the completion of the marking and coating. Samples are archived in the laboratory.

LOGISTICSOur production flow, like our networks of distributors, allows us to be close to our customers. Today, our products are distrib-uted in over 55 countries.

MOULDINGA sanding machine adjusts the diameter, a trimming machine cuts the closure to its desired length prior to creating the cham-fered edge or edges. The closures are then coated and both ends are marked using branding or laser marking according to the requirements of each customer.

DIAMANT® TECHNOLOGY

Supercritical CO2 cleaning is already used in other applications. The collaboration with the CEA (The French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission) has enabled the development of the Diamant® technology, a process exclusive to cork purification.

Under specific temperature and pressure conditions, carbon dioxide CO2 reaches an intermediate state between liquid and gas.

This state, called "supercritical", has properties that are both penetrating and draining that allow us to access the heart of the material and extract undesirable molecules.

With the removal of more than 150 molecules that cause sensory deviations, including TCA*, each of our corks is individually guaranteed to perfectly preserve the aromatic profile of the wine.

COMMITMENTS TO SUSTAINABILITY: OUR ECO-FRIENDLY APPROACH

The manufacturing process for Diam®, Mytik Diam® and Altop Diam® relies on supercritical CO2, a clean, solvent and chemical free process (commonly known as green chemistry). As part of the production of Diam®, Mytik Diam® and Altop Diam®, this green chemistry is used in a closed cycle (reuse of CO2 after purification).

CARBON FOOTPRINT®: In 2004, Diam® was the first closure to assimilate a carbon footprint audit within the scope of its global Quality and Environment Assessment Procedure. Today, we are going even further with the Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of our products.

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH FRENCH CORK: By offering its customers corks made from cork exclusively harvested in different French regions, Diam Bouchage demonstrates its commitment to the environment and the local economy, and alongside its partners it subscribes to and undertakes concrete and durable action for sustainable development..
