When Jerry Terrence visited Hollywood’s Graumann’s Chinese

Theater in 1964, the marquee titled “The Carpetbaggers”

caught his eye- giving him the idea for his carpeted handbag

creations, and setting him on a path to an evolutionary legacy

of fashion entrepreneurship. Over the next few years, JT

Carpetbag did a lot of innovative things in New York & across

the country to get the attention of store buyers, enlisting a stag

of true “Mad Men” –type advertising geniuses with clever

marketing techniques.It wasn’t long before Jerry could barely keep up with demand

thanks to nationwide media coverage in magazines,

newspapers and on radio and television. The carpetbags

became so enormously popular that nearly ONE MILLION

were sold in the US alone over the course of just 36 months.
