DESCRIPTION

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Two New Jersey Rockers To Perform In Mount Olive (April 17, 2013) – Former Styx member Glen Burtnik and singer/songwriter Bob Burger will rock the Mount Olive Performing Arts Center in Flanders, NJ with Beatles music spanning the Fab Four’s entire career. The concert, sponsored by the Mount Olive Township School District, will be held on Saturday, May 4 at 7 p.m. Both New Jersey-based musicians have previously appeared at the Performing Arts Center. Burtnik and Burger played a note-by-note performance of the Beatles’ “Revolver” album for intrepid fans that came out during a blizzard in October, 2011. Burger returned in May, 2012 with an evening of Fleetwood Mac’s greatest hits. “Glen and Bob are phenomenal musicians who’ve jammed with rock and roll legends such as Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Roger Waters, and Bon Jovi,” said Dr. Larrie Reynolds, superintendent of Mount Olive schools. “We’re thrilled to have them back.” General admission tickets for the Beatles show are just $10 each and are available at mopacnj.com. A limited number of tickets will also be available for purchase at the door. In conjunction with the concert, the school district is also sponsoring a motorcycle rally/run. The Beatles & Bikes event includes a pre-concert bike rally and ride through the countryside, in addition to one ticket to the Beatles show. (Extra tickets for the Beatles show can be purchased separately.) The rally begins at noon on May 4 in the Mount Olive HS parking lot. Vendors selling food and motorcycle-related merchandise will be on hand. The motorcycle run starts at 1:30 p.m. Admission to Beatles & Bikes is $20 per bike and can only be purchased at the rally/run on May 4. Advanced/online ordering is not available. All proceeds benefit the Mount Olive Performing Arts Center and the Mount Olive High School music department. ### For more information contact Ann Carlson, Office of the Superintendent of Schools, at 973-691-4008, ext. 8101
