PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Jan.4, 2020 Media Contact: Don Bolger, (630) 589-2975 Public Health Department Asks Health Care Workers of Suburban Cook County to Complete Vaccination Survey Forest Park, IL—The Cook County Department of Public Health is asking health care workers in suburban Cook County to complete an online survey to help prioritize the next phases of COVID-19 vaccinations. The timing of vaccinations is based on the number of doses delivered to Cook County. The survey helps ensure that doses are administered as quickly as possible. The information collected from the survey will be used to provide regular updates about when and where COVID-19 vaccinations will be available. To complete the survey, visit: CCDPH Vaccination Survey “This first phase of vaccinations is for health care providers and those on the front lines; once they are protected, we’ll be able to vaccinate the public,” said Dr. Kiran Joshi, Senior Medical Officer and Co-Lead, Cook County Department of Public Health. “We are organizing our distribution plans to make the quickest and most equitable progress in this endeavor.” Last week, over 3,000 EMT's, paramedics and other health care workers were vaccinated at three Jewel-Osco sites in suburban Cook County. The partnership with Jewel-Osco is expected to expand in the weeks ahead. “We are working with community partners and leaders to ensure equitable access to the COVID-19 vaccine to everyone in our jurisdiction of suburban Cook County,” said Dr. Rachel Rubin, Senior Public Health Medical Officer and Co-Lead. Cook County Department of Public Health. CCDPH will continue to follow CDC and ACIP guidelines to vaccinate the residents as quickly and orderly as possible.
