ForestPark,IL—TheCookCountyDepartmentofPublicHealthisaskinghealthcareworkersinsuburbanCookCountytocompleteanonlinesurveytohelpprioritizethenextphasesofCOVID-19vaccinations.
ThetimingofvaccinationsisbasedonthenumberofdosesdeliveredtoCookCounty.Thesurveyhelpsensurethatdosesareadministeredasquicklyaspossible.TheinformationcollectedfromthesurveywillbeusedtoprovideregularupdatesaboutwhenandwhereCOVID-19vaccinationswillbeavailable.

“Thisfirstphaseofvaccinationsisforhealthcareprovidersandthoseonthefrontlines;oncetheyareprotected,we’llbeabletovaccinatethepublic,”saidDr.KiranJoshi,SeniorMedicalOfficerandCo-Lead,CookCountyDepartmentofPublicHealth.“Weareorganizingourdistributionplanstomakethequickestandmostequitableprogressinthisendeavor.”
Lastweek,over3,000EMT's,paramedicsandotherhealthcareworkerswerevaccinatedatthreeJewel-OscositesinsuburbanCookCounty.ThepartnershipwithJewel-Oscoisexpectedtoexpandintheweeksahead.
“WeareworkingwithcommunitypartnersandleaderstoensureequitableaccesstotheCOVID-19vaccinetoeveryoneinourjurisdictionofsuburbanCookCounty,”saidDr.RachelRubin,SeniorPublicHealthMedicalOfficerandCo-Lead.CookCountyDepartmentofPublicHealth.
CCDPHwillcontinuetofollowCDCandACIPguidelinestovaccinatetheresidentsasquicklyandorderlyaspossible.
