    Executive Briefing on Philippine Outsourcing held in London on 16th June 2011

    London, United Kingdom, 22 June 2011.

    The Philippine Trade and Investment Center in London (PTIC London), recently collaborated with theBritish Philippine Outsourcing Council to hold the first ever Executive Briefing on Philippine Outsouringlast 16 June 2011.

    The event is a brainchild of the British Philippine Outsourcing Councils founding members UK

    companies currently providing outsourced services from the Philippines and PTIC London. Targetingexecutive-level decision makers from the United Kingdoms mainstream companies, the ExecutiveBriefing proved to be a highly efective exercise to discuss the growing global attention to PhilippineOutsourcing at the management level.

    The executive briefing was well attended by high-level executives from UK multinational companiesinvolved in Telecommunications, Insurance, Banking, Finance and Accounting and IT and CreativeIndustries. Michael Alfred Ignacio, Commercial Attach and Director of the Philippine Trade andInvestment Center in London, welcomed the participants with a business and industry introduction onPhiilppine Outsourcing, highlighting multiple international awards that have recognised the country asa destination of choice for Ofshore Outsourcing and why major global players locate their mainoperations in the Philippines.

    Obrar Consultings Richard Hampson and Dave Hopkins, premier outsourcing consultants in the UnitedKingdom, also spoke about the advantages and realities of outsourcing to the Philippines and theirsuccess cases in bringing major UK brands and their customer service operations to the country.

    Pete Graf, global Head of Service Desk at DHL, joined the Executive Briefing via live video link fromPrague and discussed several slides on why they are very satisfied with the quality and level of servicedelivered from the Philippines through its outsourced IT provider Merlin Information Systems. Grafhighlighted the talent pool available in the Philippines and how the country is able to produce multi-lingual services agents which they needed at a short notice. DHL is a major client of Merlin InformationServices Group, a founding firm of the British Philippine Outsourcing Council and represented byRichard Patterson, CEO and Ian McGowan, Sales and Marketing Manager.

    Rob OMalley, UK VP of Aegis Global BPO, another founding member of the British Philippine

    Outsourcing Council, shared highlights of his many years of experience as a pioneer in establishingPhilippine Outsourcing operations, having lived in the country as an expatriate executive for variousoutsourcing firms in the country, and explained why the companies he represented over the yearschose the Philippines and continue to thrive there, citing advantages in the availability and quality ofthe Philippine talent pool, the western culture in the Philippines, amongothers.

    Dr. Bharat Vagadia, of O2Pi was requested by the group to be a resource speaker and he presented anonline decision-making tool for business managers considering to outsource to diferent locations.The online tool is free and available for basic use for everyone. Dr. Vagadia is likewise a boardmember of the UKs National Outsourcing Association.

    The venue was hosted by Aegis Global BPO at their impressive Lansdowne House oces in BerkeleySquare, Green Park, London.
