Prvi ovlašteni operater sistema upravljanja ambalažnim otpadom u FBiH Press release - For immediate release BiH in the big system: Ekopak has become the 32nd member of PRO EUROPE Sarajevo/Brussels, December 20 th, 2013. – The non-profit organisation EKOPAK, founded by packaging companies in Bosnia-Herzegovina with the aim of taking over the responsibility for fulfillment of legal obligations for recycling and recovery of packaging waste in FBiH, today officially becomes a member of the umbrella organisation for European packaging and packaging waste recovery and recycling schemes in 32 countries, PRO EUROPE. The contract-signing ceremony between Ursula Denison, Managing Director at PRO EUROPE and Amela Hrbat, Managing Director at EKOPAK was held in Sarajevo. For EKOPAK, joining the PRO Europe family is a big and exciting step, and we look forward to working in collaboration with our Green Dot partner organisations, to use their expertise in order to reach our objectives in setting up and optimizing an effective system for packaging recovery in line with the national goals of the Ministry for the environment of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina” said Amela Hrbat, Managing Director at EKOPAK. “Being able to promote and license the Green Dot as a financing symbol for our packaging recovery organization will help us to increase the effectiveness of our system, and connect with consumers in the effort of separate collection and recycling.” Ursula Denison, Managing Director PRO EUROPE, welcomes EKOPAK into the Extended Producer Responsibility network. “PRO Europe continues to grow as a platform for packaging recovery organizations using the Green Dot trademark as a financing symbol for their operations. 2013. – The non-profit organisation EKOPAK, founded by

packaging companies in Bosnia-Herzegovina with the aim of taking over the responsibility for

fulfillment of legal obligations for recycling and recovery of packaging waste in FBiH, today officially

becomes a member of the umbrella organisation for European packaging and packaging waste

recovery and recycling schemes in 32 countries, PRO EUROPE. The contract-signing ceremony

between Ursula Denison, Managing Director at PRO EUROPE and Amela Hrbat, Managing Director at

EKOPAK was held in Sarajevo.

Ekopak is a non-profit company established in 2011, with the aim of taking over the responsibility for

fulfillment of legal obligations for recycling and re-use of packaging waste in Federation of Bosnia and

Herzegovina on behalf of packaging producers, importers, fillers, distributors and merchants. By

obtaining permit from Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism on 29 May 2012, Ekopak

became the first and leading system operator of packaging waste management in Bosnia and

Herzegovina. Its activities are based on the best EU practice from this area, but on high business

standards as well, in accordance with the standards of the company founders.
