JodyJazz Inc Announces Expansion Savannah, GA - JodyJazz Inc the world-famous manufacturer of premium quality

saxophone and clarinet mouthpieces has recently announced a series of initiatives to expand its production capabilities and further its reach into international markets.

Significant investments have been made in technology, machinery and man-power in order to finally bring the production into line with demand.

"We developed some aggressive growth plans a couple of years ago and I'm proud to say that with these latest moves we are ahead of schedule,” said founder and

President Jody Espina. "Most importantly we have been able to bring the core of our production process in-house. This will enable us to control our own destiny which is so crucial to our future," he continued.

The first move was to purchase its building in Savannah which was then soon followed

by major investments in new machinery and technology. This new machinery and technology enables a greater than ever level of precision and speed resulting in both increased quality and capacity. The centerpiece of this investment is a state of the art

five-axis CNC machine. By allowing the mouthpiece to rotate on multiple angles as it’s shaped by the drill bit, the five-axis CNC machine allows for greater accuracy and

more nuanced design than was possible with earlier equipment. But not only will these investments allow the company to increase its manufacturing

capacity for products already in production, it will also accelerate the introduction of totally new designs, some of which have been in development for some time. Being

able to now do all prototyping in-house has streamlined the company’s prototyping process. Plus the use of technological advancements, such as a 3D scanning process, allows the design, development and testing of a new mouthpiece to all occur within a

matter of a few days now.

The company also recently announced the appointment of Colin Schofield to the newly created position of Vice President of Sales & Marketing. An experienced industry professional, Schofield has previously held positions at the Avedis Zildjian Company

and Gretsch.

JodyJazz Inc Wins Music Inc Magazine

2012 Product Excellence Award Savannah, GA – JodyJazz Inc, one of the world’s foremost manufacturers of premium

saxophone and clarinet mouthpieces, has been named as a winner of the 2012 Music Inc Magazine Product Excellence Awards. The only woodwind product to receive the award, typical voter remarks included comments such as “Great margin for the dealer, great

brand story and a great face behind the product in Jody Espina.”

Winner of several awards for product design and application of innovative technologies over the past few years, JodyJazz founder and President Jody Espina commented “What makes this award so special is that it is the result of a vote by retailers. So I am

particularly proud of this award”, he continued. “I want to thank all the retailers who voted for us and I commit to you that we will keep doing what we’ve been doing and

strive to be even better by making the best mouthpieces that money can buy.” The flagship of the JodyJazz range is the JodyJazz ‘DV’ Series mouthpieces. These superior mouthpieces offer several exclusive and patented design innovations making them unique in the marketplace. Firstly their design utilizes ‘Phi’ Proportions, also known

as the ‘Golden Section’ Proportions. These are the proportions that occur throughout nature and have appeared regularly in the course of history. They are found in the

Stradivarius Violin, the Nautilus shell, the dolphin, human beings, the Ancient Pyramids and much more. With the DV series, (named DV for ‘Da Vinci’) Golden Section Proportions are used for the first time on a saxophone mouthpiece resulting in a chamber

that increases harmonics making the sound bigger and richer. DV mouthpieces also feature a revolutionary ‘Secondary Window’ design. The moving sound wave inside of

the mouthpiece is now able to strike the vibrating reed above the bore of the mouthpiece instead of the mouthpiece material that is usually there. Finally, through the innovative use of new CNC technology, the company developed a proprietary way of putting on a

new facing curve that ensures perfection every time.

The JodyJazz ‘DV’ Series offers mouthpieces for Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone and Bass. The DV series is also now joined by the ‘DV NY’ and ‘DV CHI’ Series.

JodyJazz Mouthpieces Recognized on

‘The Golden Number’ Website

Savannah, GA – JodyJazz Inc has been recognized on “The Golden Number” website for its innovative and exclusive application of ‘Phi’, the ‘Golden Section’ Proportions, in the

design of its JodyJazz ‘DV’ Series saxophone mouthpieces.

‘Phi’, 1.618, is also known as the 'Golden Section', 'Golden Ratio' and the 'Golden Mean'. These are the proportions that occur throughout nature and have appeared regularly in the course of history. They are found in the Stradivarius Violin, the Nautilus shell, the

dolphin, human beings, the Ancient Pyramids and much more. The Golden Number

website www.GoldenNumber.Net explores the pervasive appearance of ‘Phi’ in

mathematics, geometry, life and the universe. The site is operated by a global community dedicated to providing the best information on ‘Phi’, showing how it may be applied, and demonstrating the ultimate limitless of its applications.

With the JodyJazz ‘DV’ Series mouthpieces (named DV for ‘Da Vinci’), the ‘Golden

Section’ proportions are used for the first time on a saxophone mouthpiece.

“Every measurement was analyzed with ‘Phi’ in mind and used when applicable” said Jody Espina, founder and President of JodyJazz Inc. “This included the length of the bore, the width of the shank walls, the beak of the mouthpiece, the depth of the bore

at the facing and others”, he continued. “The amount of harmonics in the sound, and therefore the projection of the mouthpiece, is huge. This eliminates the annoying

shrillness that is associated with loud, bright mouthpieces. The results have been astounding; with artists saying that it’s brighter, louder, fuller and easier to play than any mouthpieces they had used before”.
