AFWA 2016

1 Emerging and established fashion designers from Europe and Africa will take part in the 3-day event, with a focus on showcasing African & African inspired fashion, art, culture and rich heri-

tage to a worldwide audience.

AFWA is kicking off on 24th August with a press conference as on opportunity to meet and interview participating designers. Superstar and host Ramsey Nouah will be opening the event.

Followed by days with parades across the runway as if it were a tale! Before and during the breaks there are exhibitions and there is music and entertainment. During each show day a guest will receive a special gift. Icing on the cake is the Diamond Ring for one guest on Saturday the 27th

August.

3 CHANTELL - AFWA FACE 2016

Chantell Dapaah is a name that needs no introductions in the world of modeling, fashion and beauty. She is THE Ghanaian fashion model, beauty queen and brand face with over 9 years of experience.

As a kid she did a little modeling here and there. Modeling professionally started in 2008 when she joined Exotic Modeling Agency to get professional training. Ever since then she could be seen in many adverts, Look Books, campaigns and so on. She worked as a brand ambassador for Cultured Concepts (USA) and T’Best Drinks amongst others and she was a model at several fashion shows. In 2013 and 2014 she played in movies as well.

Chantell has a second job: PR for a fashion House (Abrantie The Gentleman) in Ghana.

4. CAMPAIGN PHOTO’S

5 ORGANIZATIONAFWA is an annual event focused on exhibiting the beauty of African couture, art and fashion to a Euro-pean and global audience. AFWA 2016 is a multiday event, that includes runway shows, exhibitions and network meetings. The sole purpose is raising awareness of the work of African fashion designers and African inspired couture, providing multiple opportunities for showcasting theit work to a broad audi-ence. The event will showcase the latest fashion trends of the emerging vibrant African art and design

industry to the European audience, offering opportunities for vendor exhibitions, linking with business leaders, sponsors, local buyers, agents and media.

INSPIRE - CONNECT - GROW

AFWA is organized under the Diana Tambe (DT) Foundation, serving as a tool in ex-panding the African fashion and textile industry throuhg mentoring, exhibiting and promoting home based and international African and African-inspired designers. The ultimate vision is the empowerment of African designers, highlighting their con-tributions to the industry and branding African countries as global players in fashion,

art and culture.

AFWA TEAM 2016AFWA is organized by the AFWA-2016 team, including Miss Diana Tambe (founder and CEO), Aydin Acik, (production director). A range of professionals add on a vol-untary basis their networks and professional skills on (Social) Media & PR, Fashion Event Organization, make up and hairstyles. Names can be found in attachment 2.

Diana started the Africa Fashion Week Amster-dam in 2014, being a model for African fashion herself and a designer, with her own label ‘Black Pearl Secret’. As a designer she won some priz-es. She is working hard on promoting African

Fashion, amongst others by organizing Fashion Weeks in different countries in Africa. She was born in Cameroon and lived there until she was

16 years old. After that she lived in both The Hague and London. Under her foundation, the DT Foundation, AFWA takes place. “We are a platform to create Demand & Supply Interna-tionally!”, according to the founder and Chief

Executive Officer.

Aydin comes from Turkey. During his studies of Social Sciences he has been a model for a famous brand for men’s

suits. Since then he’s’ ‘The Fashion Man’. In 1995 he came to the Netherlands to finish his studies, he decided to stay in the Netherlands. Since 2011 he follows his passion for fashion. He has visited

well-known international fashion weeks and worked for the Fashion Weeks

Istanbul and Amsterdam. Since 2014 he works for AFWA, now as produc-tion manager and partner. In 2014 he won his first prize in the Netherlands as ‘Imaging Person’. In 2015 he won in

London the ‘’ Best Event Europe’ and in Istanbul in 2016 he was the ‘Dynamic

Business Man’.

4. Corendon Vitality Hotel Amsterdam Corendon Vitality Hotel Amsterdam is a unique hotel in Amsterdam and opened in 2015. For both business and leisure stay people can book a room or suite. 5. B. Amsterdam

B. Amsterdam is the location where the AFWA shows will take place. It is a modern, industrial building with loads of natural light and lots of green. It offers a cre-ative working space of 28.000 square meters to startups, creatives and corporates. People who join the B. com-munity get access to a toolset and social environment to improve their business and spaces such as work spots,

6. Ramsey Films

Mr Ramsey Nouah is the celebrity host of AFWA 2016. He is an Ambassador of Sustainability, Movie Producer & Actor extraordinaire featured in more than 900 million movie copies sold and watched world wide. He has reshaped and redefined movie-making, entertaining people

all over the world for more than TWO decades. He will entertain the worldwide audience from 25 to 27 August during the shows. On the 24 August he will be available for interviews

with the press.

7. International Fashion Film Festival Brussels

International Fashion Film Festival Brussels (IFFFB) brings together various sectors for creatives from the film, advertising and fashion industries during a 3-day interactive festival. Fashion

meets the Film industry: Fashion Film screenings, an exclusive B2B & B2C Industry Show. Pro-fessionals can showcase their services and products to a targeted audience of potential customers

as well as established experts looking for reliable partners and employees. Amongst others the IFFFB offers free publicity.

8. The Hague African Festival

The Hague African Festival brings people from different corners of the world in touch with each other. For the organization there is nothing better than cultural activities to learn from each other’s back-

grounds. It offers swirling music from all over the world. From Somalia to Kenya and Cape Verde to Zimbabwe and Suriname. The last festival was held in June 2016.

AFWA offered a workshop during the Festival. The Festival offers AFWA free publicity.

9. Kapsalon Magielse

Hairdresser & Make up Manfred Magielse has his own boutique in Oud-Gastel. His motto is: Quality and Sociability. He is working with modern products and used to lead up others.

During the event Manfred will give advice about hairstyles and makeup. He is the Head Stylist of AFWA 2016. He likes to work a lot with products (like hair wigs) from Balmain. Their prod-

ucts will also be exposed at the exhibition.

10. Wilson Ebot Entertainment Pictures
