Pretty Paper Bird Cages
Materials: templates – printed on white card stock, scissors, string, sticky glue stick or adhesive, & big needle.
Glue “wires” on every other tab (incl. spots where side panels connect to base.)
First circle goes on colored side down. Glue two “wires” on at a time.
Reinforce with fingers as glue dries, if necessary.
Use needle or thumb tack to poke hole through all layers.
Measure and cut a 12 inch (30 cm) piece of string.
1. With your needle feed one end of the string through your bird and tie a knot.
2. Make a knot in your string 1.5 to 2 inches (3.5-5 cm) above the bird. This is to prevent it from sliding up through the top when you hang your cage.
3. With your needle feed the loose end of the string up through the inside of the cage and out the top.
4. With your previous knot snugly against the top on the inside, tie another knot to secure your string on the outside. Put your needle point in the hole as you pull your string tight, and your knot will close in nice and snug against the top of your cage.
