Poland is nowadays a popular travel destination for

visitors from around the world. It is an international, out-

looking and positively transforming country centrally

located within a max. 2 hour flight from most European

airports.

Most of our Guests choose Krakow, Warsaw or Gdańsk

as a first destination city in Poland.

Krakow

Krakow has always been, in many aspects, a charmed

city. A city of majestic architectural monuments, cultural

treasures, timeless courtyards, priceless artworks and

legendary beer cellars and gardens. Kraków has Europe's

largest market square and numerous historical houses,

palaces and churches with their magnificent interiors.

Krakow was the capital of Poland until the 17th century

but still, for many people, it is the center of culture,

history, science and meetings.

The Old Town of Krakow is a perfect example of the

medieval architecture that has survived unchanged and

was one of the most precious treasures of the world put

on the UNESCO list of objects that constitute the World's

Cultural Heritage.

You are invited to taste the ambience of this former

capital city, which is now the capital of culture and

science. It is hard to explain its uniqueness to those who

have not seen the city yet.

Wieliczka is a small town situated few kilometers from

Krakow. In 1978 the Wieliczka Salt Mine, considered one

of the wonders of the world, was inscribed in UNESCO's

First World List of Cultural and Natural Heritage.

Magnificent chambers chiseled out in rock salt. Amazing

underground saline lakes, majestic timber constructions

and unique statues sculpted in salt. Almost 3 km of

meandering corridors, 800 steps to climb of which 350

have to be descended to reach the depth of 135 meters

underground.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see a completely

different image of the mine hearing the legend about

Princess Kinga and how she brought the salt treasure to

Polish land. St. Kinga’s Chapel is a breath taking

subterranean church where everything is made of salt.

Wieliczka Salt Mine

Warsaw

After the second World War, the rebuilding of Warsaw

was directed by the country's Communist government.

As a result, grey and functional images are the initial

impressions of present day Warsaw. But after a deeper

exploration into the heart of the city, Warsaw reveals its

surprises: architectural, cultural and human.

The Warsaw Castle, rebuilt from ruins, is one of the

loveliest in Europe. The city's historic baroque houses,

clustered around the Old Town Market Square and St.

John's Cathedral, rose again from utter annihilation. The

restored, glittering galleries of both the Water Palace in

Łazienki Park and the Wilanów Summer Palace are

favorite tourist attractions.

Now that Cold War Communism is a thing of the past,

Warsaw is fast shedding its more drearier aspects. Free

markets, blossoming entrepreneurship, a lively art scene

and numerous new hotels and restaurants are rapidly

creating an exciting city.

Gdańsk

Gdańsk is a city situated on the Baltic coast in northern

Poland. Together with two other neighboring cities

(Sopot and Gdynia) it forms a large metropolitan area

called Tricity. Gdańsk is famous for several historical sites,

Sopot is known as a resort, while Gdynia is a modern

city.

Gdańsk is a principal seaport and shipbuilding center in

Poland. In the past, Gdańsk was also a member of the

Hanseatic League. The city was the birthplace of the

Solidarity movement which, under the leadership of

Gdańsk political activist Lech Wałęsa, played a major role

in bringing an end to Communist rule across Central

Europe.

The city has many fine buildings from the time of the

Hanseatic League. Most tourist attractions are located

along a pedestrian thoroughfare surrounded by

buildings reconstructed in historical style and flanked at

both ends by elaborate city gates. The Crane on the

Motława river was the biggest port crane in medieval

Europe.

Wrocław

Wrocław is a city with an extremely turbulent history:

through its course it has been passed between four

countries and it has gone under five names. Finally

Wrocław has seen the nasty end of both fascism and

communism. Sixty years ago the city was a complete

ruin, and today, this is one of the most enchanting towns

in Central Europe. Gothic towers of the Old Town soar

into the skyline and dozens of bridges span the banks of

the Oder canals. Most are within walking distance and

centered around the Main Square. With its twisting

cobbled streets Wrocław is one of the undisputed

highlights of Poland.

This is a city of young people. The student life makes the

cultural scene blooming and the nightlife vibrant.

However, Wrocław is much more than atmospheric bars

and classical opera houses; the local authorities have

shown a strong desire to return the city to its pre-war

prosperity. A wide program of reconstruction and

regeneration have made Wrocław one of Poland's most

exciting city.

Poznań

Poznań is located on the Warta River in west-central

Poland, in the Greater Poland region. It is best known for

its renaissance Old Town and Ostrów Tumski Cathedral.

Today, Poznań is an important cultural and business

centre and one of Poland's most populous regions with

many regional customs such as Saint John's Fair (Jarmark

Świętojański) or traditional Saint Martin's croissants.

Poznań is among the oldest and largest cities in Poland.

It is an important academic site, hosting the Adam

Mickiewicz University - the third largest Polish university.

The city also hosts the Poznań International Fair – the

biggest industrial fair in Poland and one of the largest

fairs in Europe. The city's most renowned landmarks

include Poznań Town Hall, the National Museum, Grand

Theatre, Poznań Cathedral and the Imperial Castle.

In 2012, the Poznań's Art and Business Center "Stary

Browar" won a competition organised by National

Geographic Traveller and was given the first prize as one

of the seven "New Polish Wonders".

Zakopane

Nestled in the foothills of the Tatras, Zakopane is

Poland’s best-known mountain resort. It’s an excellent

base for hiking in summer and skiing in winter, though at

the height of the summer and winter seasons it can get

positively overrun.

In addition to outdoor pursuits, Zakopane is known for

the size and beauty of its wooden villas, dating from the

late 19th and early 20th centuries. Some of these now

house museums, while others have been converted into

hotels or pensions, or remain in private hands.

The father of this craze for all things wooden was the

architect Stanisław Witkiewicz (1851–1915), and the first

of several magnificent wooden villas that he built in the

area, the Willa Koliba, now houses the Museum of

Zakopane Style.
