For those of you who prefer to build your own locomotives but lack machining facilities, we offer the following range of chassis and parts as used on our own engines. By building it yourself, not only are you saving money, but you will have the satisfaction of producing your own working model, and being modular, you can buy each kit separately and build at your own speed. You don’t even have to buy a full set of kits, you may want just the chassis and fit your own boiler and body ,or a chassis and boiler then build your own body to suit, it’s as flexible as you make it. Painting of all items is left to the builder.

‘Clarence’
'Clarence' is a new Roundhouse freelance design loosely based on steam trams prevalent across Britain and Europe during the early 1900s. Some of its features draw direct inspiration specifically from examples used in Yorkshire during this period.
New for 2018 This year we are adding two new locomotives to the range, ’Clarence’ an 0-4-0 freelance tram style loco and ‘Merseysider’ an 0-4-0 prototypical diesel engine.
‘Merseysider’
Merseysider' is a 0-4-0 diesel electric locomotive built in 1964 by Ruston & Hornsby for the the Park Gate steelworks in Rotherham. It was acquired by the Talyllyn Railway in 1969 and used up until 2016. It operated under loco number No.8 during it's time on the Talyllyn Railway.
Orders are being taken from the 1st January 2018 The full models will be unveiled at the 16mm NGM in Peterborough in April
