Institutions which monitor prices on agri-food market in Poland

• Central Statistical Office – provide official statistical data on the monthly basis.

• Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development – monitor prices in the most important agricultural markets on the weekly basis.

• Average procurement prices of major agricultural products

• Average marketplace prices received by farmers on marketplaces

• Producer prices of selected food products.

• Retail prices of selected foodstuffs by voivodship.

Who conducts the Market Information System (IAMIS) in Poland?

The Department of Agricultural Markets

The Unit of Market Information and Agricultural Statistics

(14 employees)responsible mainly for:- conducting agricultural market surveys (15 markets under surveys),- work out detailed information for Top Officials and other Departments in our Ministry- regularly publishing market reports & analysis (weekly or monthly),- sending information to the EU Commission.

Is it OBLIGATORY to send data to the IAMIS?

Entrepreneurs who sell or buy agri-food products, brokerage firms, warehouses and businessmen who are running commodities exchange are obliged to transfer market data, free of charge….
