Hello Year 5, Hope you are all keeping well! It’s been great to see everything you have been up to on the Facebook page. We are pleased you liked the mini me’s that were sent to you, they have certainly been kept busy! Please continue to show your learning on our Year 5 group on SMB Noticeboard Facebook or email school on [email protected] . I (Mrs Francis) have been very busy working and I have enjoyed playing lots of games with my family. What are your favourite board games? Ours are snakes and ladders and game of life. My daughter has been learning first aid skills this week as part of her Rainbow’s challenges. I made honeycomb this week, which was very exciting when it created giant bubbles. I (Mrs Scott) have been spending some time with my family this week. We have spent time reading stories and going on walks and playing in the garden when it hasn’t been raining! I have also started doing some puzzles (sudoku and crosswords!), I’m hoping that I can speed up with the sudoku puzzles as I’m quite slow at the moment! I have been sorting out the herbs out in the garden so we can start using those in some recipes! Me and Owen tried an experiment to see whether we could grow our own peppers and they have started to sprout!

Hello Year 5, Hope you are all keeping well! It’s been great to see everything you have been up to on the Facebook page. We are pleased you liked the mini me’s that were sent to you, they have certainly been kept busy! Please continue to show your learning on our Year 5 group on SMB Noticeboard Facebook or email school on [email protected].

Take care, Mrs Scott and Mrs Francis

technology and inventions from 1851, you can take part in

engineering challenges and create their own Great Exhibitions at home! See attached sheets

For this year’s challenge, participants will submit a 1 minute

video presenting theirGreat Exhibition at Home, which

tackles the question:How can engineering save the

planet?Geography

Create instructions for someone to follow as to how you would get from your house to the building that you have chosen as part of the history

section.

History Choose a building that takes

interest in your local area. Take a picture of it (or use a picture

from the internet).See you if you can find out the

answers to the following questions:

Who used it in the past? When do you think it was built?

Why is it important to the community then (and now)?

What is the building used for? Where else could this have been built in the area if this

location hadn’t been picked? Is this the best place for it? E.g. Why was this site chosen for

the War memorial and not in a different place?

ReadingRe-write one of the

chapters from a book of your choice from another characters point of view. You could write it using paragraphs or you could try writing a playscript!

PECan you set up an obstacle course? Take turns running it in your family and time to see who could be the
