Year 2 Spelling and Handwriting 29.06.20 - 03.07.20 This week you will get 5 words each day to practise your fantastic handwriting. These will include the spelling patterns you have been learning this year. You can then test your memory in a quiz. These words will be checked alongside some of the ‘common exception words’ that you have been learning this year. You can find the quiz on Class Teams and it is a chance for you to try and beat your score each day! Remember - when you are practising your handwriting: Sit at a table or desk. Make sure you are sitting on your chair properly. Have a good pencil grip, holding your pencil or pen near the tip as this makes it easier for you to control it. The letters o, r, v and w always join out of the top. Ascenders are tall and reach the line above. Descenders dip below the line. See below: It would be fantastic if you had a folder to keep your handwriting sheets in or a notebook to use for all your handwriting and spelling practise. You can see your handwriting improve each day! If not keep it all together and we can’t wait to see it when you come back to school. Each day choose the correct type of letter formation for you, this depends on if you are joining your handwriting or not. To remind yourself of how to form each letter, both cursive and non-cursive, you can use this game: http://www.ictgames.com/mobilePage/skyWriter/index.html Monday
