A Challenge

Family Song Time

Together make up a family song. Use all the names of the people in your family. Sing their names to a well-know tune like Happy Birthday or Twinkle Twinkle little star. Take different parts in the song eg sometimes sing your own name, sometimes sing someone else’s name and sometimes sing altogether.

Don’t worry if your voice sounds a bit wonky, just think about the wonderful family you belong to and sing out as loud as you can!

Practise the song so that you all know it by heart.

Physical Play a game of Follow my Leader

The leader does some exercise moves and the rest of the family must copy them. Here are some good examples:

Jog on the spot with your hands on your head.

Hop 5 times on each leg.

Do a silly dance like the Floss or make one up.

Do 5 star jumps./ 5 sit ups / press ups

Take it in turns to be the leader. Try to get your family out of breath. Can you feel your hearts beating faster? Your heart loves you when you exercise!!

Reflection The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said that we should pay attention to our kinsfolk.(family)

Talk about ways that you could look after each other as a family. What could you do to help each other – not just with jobs and chores but in other more spiritual ways? Make time for each other this week to really show that you are looking after each other and that you love and care for each other.

Time to talk As a family, talk about some of the things your time during Lockdown. Discuss these questions. What new thing have you learned? What has been hard about

being in Lockdown? What has been the best part of it? Spend a few quiet moments where none of you are speaking. This can be quiet thoughts or a simple prayer or just listen to your own breathing. Let your mind relax. Remember that time with your family is precious and say a Thank you for all that you have.

Acts Of Kindness

Say a prayer or write a prayer for someone in your family or say or write a kind message to them. Tell them what they mean to you. Tell them the special things you love about them.

Give yourself a challenge to say only kind things for one whole day.
