Live Embers Christmas Feast & Program at Camp Caraway
On a very warm summer night, twenty-seven Seniors traveled to the outdoor theater in Snow Camp, NC. The production, Pathway to Freedom, is a fictional story based on facts from the experiences of the Quaker people of
Alamance County and the Underground Railroad. The excellent acting and magnificent vocal abilities from the two main characters were, Mama Harris played by Ann Hunt Smith and Preacher John/Fredrick Douglas played by James Shields. The story, about freedom and forgiveness, reminded us of a difficult time in our country’s history, but also of the ultimate Passage to Freedom for all people—Jesus Christ, who forgave us and gave us freedom from sin through His sacrificial death and victorious resurrection.
