UpperSchoolTeamPhilosophyVarsityOurfinestathletesintermsofabilityandattitudearechosentorepresentourschoolinvarsityinterscholasticcompetition.Atthislevelweexpectacompletecommitmenttotheteam.Inordertomaximizesuccess,playingtimeandotherstrategicdecisionsaredeterminedsolelybythecoachingstaff.Thus,theremaybecontestsinwhichsomeathletesdonotplay.Varsityathletesareexpectedtostriveforexcellenceintheirsport(s),attendcampsandclinics,andtotrainundertheguidanceofourSportsPerformanceCoach.Weaskparentstobemindfulnottoscheduleappointmentsand/orvacationtimethatconflictswithvarsitypracticeorgametimes.Itisimportanttothesuccessoftheteamandtothedevelopmentofyourchildthatheorshecommitsfullytotheteam.
JuniorVarsityJuniorvarsityteamsaregearedtowardlearningandimprovingthefundamentalskillsneededinordertoplayatamorecompetitivelevel.Atthisdevelopmentalstage,coachesattempttogiveallplayersadequateplayingtime,buttheyalsotakeintoaccountcommitment,attitude,andgamesituations.ThesuccessofaJVprogramshouldnotnecessarilybedefinedbyitsrecord,butbyindividualandteamimprovementthroughouttheseason.MiddleSchoolTeamPhilosophyBypromotingparticipation,ourMiddleSchoolprogramprovidesinterestedstudentsaninterscholasticsportsprogramwhichwefeelisageappropriateforsixth,seventhandeighthgraders.OurgoalsfortheMiddleSchoolprogramareto:

Coachesdotheirbesttogiveeachplayerasmuchplayingtimeaspossible,butarealsomindfuloftheimportanceofkeepingthegamecompetitive.AttheMiddleSchoollevel,wheneverpossible,wefieldbotha“blue“anda“white”teamforeachsport.The"blue"teamisthemoreexperiencedgroupandisgenerallycomprisedmostlyofeighthgraderswithseveralwell-skilledyoungerathletesfromtheseventhandpossiblesixthgrades.The"white"team(s)mayincludesixth,seventhandeighthgraders.Whennecessary,asecond“white”teamwillbecreatedtoaccommodateinterest.MSPractice/GameInformation&Guidelines Athleticspracticesorgameswilltakeplaceoncycledays1,2,4,5,6.

● Intheeventofinclementweather,FallandSpringsportswilldismissat3:20pmsothatthosekidswhoneedtocanridethebuseshome.
● AparentmeetingismandatoryandespeciallyimportantsincePDSAthleticswillbeanewexperienceformanyofourparentsandstudents.Coacheswillcontactparentstosetupaparentmeetingpriortooratthefirstgameoftheseason.

● WorkwiththeAthleticsandAdmissionsDepartmenttohelpidentifyandattractstudent-athletesfromotherschools.
● WorkwithCollegeCounseling’sAthleticsLiaisontoidentifyschoolsforplayerswhohaveexpressedinterestinplayingcollegeathletics.
● Keepaccurateandup-to-datestatistics,alongwithanyindividualandteamawards,recognition.Aseasonendformforvarsityteamswillbekeptonfileintheathleticoffice(seeappendixforform).
● Communicatewithlocalmediatomakesureallgamescoresandstatisticsarereportedconsistently.Besurethatallcommentsarepositiveandcomplimentary.NewspapercontactinformationincludedintheAppendix.
● AttendlocalNewJerseyNJISAAcoachingclinicseachyear.
TeamSelectionProcess Althoughwewouldliketohaveeveryplayerwhotriesoutforateamearnaspotontheteamheorshedesires,thisisunfortunatelynotalwayspossible.Constraintsonpracticefacilities,teamsize,

skilllevelandstudentinterest,maymakeitnecessarytolimitthenumbersofplayersonaparticularteamorprogram.Allinterestedmiddleschoolathleteswillbeplacedonateamthatfitshis/herskilllevelwhetheritbeBlue,WhiteorWhite2teams.Weplacethehighestpriorityonfindingqualityathleticexperiencesforallofourstudentathletes,andplacingtheathleteontheappropriateskilllevelteamisthefirststepinthis.Thoughrare,rosterlimitationmaybenecessaryforcertainsportsthathavefacilitieslimitations.Since"cuts"aredifficultatanyage,thecoachingstaffwillmakeeveryefforttohandlethesesituationswithtactandsensitivity.CoachesmustmeetwiththeDirectorofAthleticsthroughoutthemiddleschoolteamselectionprocessandbeforemakingfinalrosterdecisions.PDSwillensurethatallinterestedplayerswillbeaffordedathree-dayevaluationprocesstoselectplayersontoappropriateteams.Ifanyathleteisrequiredtobe“cut”fromateam,thecoachmustdiscusswiththeDirectorofAthleticsforapprovalpriortoconsultingindividuallyandprivatelywiththeindividual(s)aboutthedecision.Ifpossible,coacheswilldiscussotherformsofinvolvementwiththeteamsuchasmanagingorscorekeeping. Itisrecommendedthatcaptainsareselectedforeachvarsityteam.Thisisanimportantofficeandselectionshouldnotbetakenlightly.Coacheswillleadtheselection,butplayerscanbeinvolvedinasecretballot.Twotofourcaptainsshouldbeselected,andthenomineesshouldbeupperclassmen.Captainsshouldbeselectedjustpriortotheupcomingseasonandnotattheendofaseasonforthenextyear.Varsityteamswhowanttohaveleadersfortheoff-seasoncanappointunofficial“offseasoncaptains”toleadoff-seasonworkouts,butformalcaptainswillbeselectedintheweeksprecedingtheseason.
● AttheJuniorVarsitylevel:captainsareoptional. ● AttheMiddleSchoollevel:honoraryweeklyorgamedaycaptainsispolicy.
UpperSchoolManagers Varsityandjuniorvarsityteamsmayfinditnecessaryandhelpfultohaveateammanagerormanagers.Themanagerrolemayincludeassistingwithscoringandtiming,settingupplayingareas,keepingtrackofequipmentandinventories,keepingstatsandfilming.**Managersreceivecommunityservicehoursandnotagrade.**

PlayerExpectations
● AthletesonalllevelsareexpectedtoattendALLschoolpracticesandgames.● PDSdoesn’ttolerateanyformofplayerhazingwhetherthereiswillfulparticipationornot. ● AllunexcusedabsenceswillbetreatedasaclasscutandwillbereportedtotheMS/US
office. ● Athleticparticipationisaprivilegeandnotaright.Theuseofdrugs,tobaccooralcoholis
harmfultopersonalhealthandunderminesthemissionofathletics.Therefore,theuse,orpossessionisconsideredaviolationofone'scommitmenttoteamandwillresultinsuspensionordismissal.
● AthletesmaynotswitchsportsduringtheseasonwithoutpriorpermissionofboththeHeadCoachandtheAthleticDirector.
● Ifanathletewithdraws,orisaskedtoleaveateam,he/shemustreturnallissuedequipmentimmediately.

● IntheMiddleSchool,ifanathletewithdrawsfromateam,he/shemustenrollintheSports&Activitiesclassthefollowingdayasnecessary.
● Intheeventofanearlydismissalfromschoolforacontest,studentsareexpectedtomeetwiththeirteachersbeforehandtomakeupanyworkthattheywillmiss.
● Athletesareresponsiblefortheiruniformsandallissuedequipment.LossofanyequipmentorPDSpropertywillresultintheathletebeingchargedatthecostofre-purchasingtheitem(s)plusare-orderfeeofuptohalfthevalueoftheitem.
o Athleteswillnotbeallowedtotryoutforateamuntilallschoolissuedequipmentanduniformsfromthepriorseasonhavebeenaccountedfor.
● Athletesarerequiredtoattendtheseason-end(US)oryear-end(MS)awardsceremony. PlayerSuspension
SuspensionsandsanctionsareasensitiveissueforallsotheA.D.mustbeconsultedbeforeaction.TheheadcoachmaysuspendanathletefromparticipationonlyafterconsultationwiththeA.D.Offensesthatmayprovokedisciplinaryactioninclude,butarenotlimitedto:
● theuseofprofanity● excessivetardiness● unsportsmanlikebehavior● missingapracticeorgamewithoutareasonableexcuse● useofalcohol,drugsorotherbannedsubstance
NOTE:Aplayerorcoachdisqualificationsfromacontestresultsinanautomatictwogamesuspensionperleaguerules.StudentAthleteConcussionReturntoPlayProtocolOnceastudentathletesustainsaheadinjurywhichisthendiagnosedbyaphysicianasaconcussion,thestudentathletewillbeputintotheReturntoPlayProtocol.Step1-Oncethestudentathleteisasymptomatic,heorshewilltakeapost-concussionImPACTtest.Theresultsofthistestwillbecomparedtothebaselinetestthestudentathletetookearlieratthebeginningoftheschoolyear.Ifresultsareproblemfreeandthestudentathletehasnorecurrenceofanysymptomsfor24hoursheorshewillthenprogresstostep2.Step2-Exertionaltest.ThiswillbedoneonatreadmillorstationarybikeasadministeredbytheAthleticTrainer.Ifstudentathletedoesnotexperienceanysymptomsfor24hoursheorshewillprogresstostep3.Step3-Modified/non-contactpracticewithteam.Thiscanconsistofjogging,running,skilldrills.Ifstudentathletedoesnotexperienceanysymptomsfor24hoursheorshewillprogresstostep4.Step4-Fullcontactpracticewithteamwithnorestrictions.Ifstudentathletedoesnotexperienceanysymptomsfor24hoursheorshewillprogresstostep5.

Step5-Fullreturntoplaywithnorestrictions.
Ifatanytimeduringthisreturntoplayprotocolthestudentathletedevelopssymptomsheorshewillrevertbacktopreviousstepandthenprogressasstatedabove.TransportationGuidelinesForsafetyandlegalreasons,PDSprovidestransportationtoandfromallawaygames.Thefollowingproceduresshouldbefollowed:
● Coachesmusttravelwiththeteamandmaintainteamcontrol. ● CoachesmusthaveacellphoneandaPDSEmergencyPhone#Card. ● Teamsmustbepromptandreadyfordepartureatspecifiedtimes. ● Teamsmustensurethatthebusisleftclean. ● Coachesmustensurethatallmembersoftheteamtraveltoandfromgamesonthebus.Ifit
isabsolutelycriticalforastudenttouseothermeansoftransportation,heorshemaydosoonlyiftheparent(s)havegivenwrittenorverbalpermissiontothecoachorathleticdepartment.
● Withtheheadcoach'spermission,parentsinattendancemaytransporttheirchildhomeafteranawaygame.
● Appropriatedressisexpectedfortravelwhenteamischangingatvisitingsite.Thiswillbecommunicatedbytheheadcoach.
AthleticGrades&Reports TheheadcoachofeachteamwilldraftaPass/Failgradeandanathleticcommentforallteammembersattheendoftheseason.GradesandreportsaretobecompletedusingFAWeb.Gradesandcommentsaredueattheendofeachseason. AthleticAwardsAtthevarsitylevel,thecoachingstaffwillpresentthreeawards:One(1)VarsityTeamAward:Presentedtotheplayerwhocontributedthemosttothesuccessofyourprogram.Two(2)Coaches'Awards:Presentedtoplayerswhoexemplifiedaspecialqualitydeservingofrecognition.i.e.leadership,sportsmanship,mostimproved,unsunghero,etc.Atthejuniorvarsitylevel,thecoachingstaffwillpresent:Two(2)CoachesAwards:toplayerswhoexemplifiedaspecialqualitydeservingofrecognition.*Avarsityplayerwillbepresentedaletterfortheirfirstseasonletteringinaparticularsport.*TherearenoseasonalindividualathleticawardsattheMiddleSchoollevel.

AthleticAwardsCeremoniesandTeamParentsUpperSchoolTheAthleticofficewillplanandexecuteaseasonalSportsAwardsAssemblyduringtheschooldaywhereallawardwinnerswillbeannounced.HeadcoacheswillprovideawardwinnerdescriptionsanddescriptionsoftheirseasontotheDirectorofAthleticspriortotheAssembly.Eachteamisrequiredtoorganizeateam“breakout”partytoendtheirseason.UpperSchoolteamswillannounceteamawardwinners,recognizeallmembersoftheteam,andthankparentsandteamparentsfortheirsupportatthisparty.Thisisagreatopportunitytoendseasonsonapositivenoteandeveryeffortshouldbemadetodothiswell.Workingwithateamparenttohelporganizethepartyisencouraged.Anyoff-campuspartymustbelimitedincosttonomorethan$12perpersonsothatitisn’tcostprohibitivetoanyfamilytoattend.MiddleSchoolCoacheswillworkwithteamparentstoorganizeanendofseason“breakout”partyfortheirteam.Thisisagreatopportunitytoendseasonsonapositivenoteandeveryeffortshouldbemadetodothiswell.ThepartywillbeoncampusinalocationdesignatedbytheAthleticsOfficeandcoacheswilltalkbrieflyabouttheirseasonandthenhavesometimefortheteamtosocializeonelasttimeasateamforthatseason.CoacheswillworkwithTeamparentstoorganizedrinksandlightrefreshmentsforthepartiestomakethingsfestiveandfun.Year-EndSpecialRecognitionAwards

SummerRecessUnderstaterulescoachesmayinstructtheirathletesduringsummerrecess,howeverthefollowingpoliciesdoapply:

Out-of-SeasonNJSIAA’sregulationsstatethatout-of-seasonreferstotheperiodoftimefromthefinalgameoftheseasontothatseason’snextofficialstartingpracticedate,excludingtheSummerRecess.Coachesmaynotcoachorinstructtheirathletesduringthistime.Outofseasonconditioningprogramsareencouraged,buttheymaynotbeformalpracticeswithPDSteamcoaches.Evenundertheguidanceofatrainerwhoisnotontheteam’scoachingstaff,out–of-seasoninstructionposeanumberofuniqueinstitutionalchallenges.Ifconductedtheycanbeheldsoasnottointerferewithotherin-seasonsports.PDSheadcoachesmaynotinstructorattend.Inadditiontotherestrictionsabove,otherguidelinesmayapply.Pre-SeasonManyofourteamsencourageoptionalout-of-seasontrainingfortheirplayerstopreparefortheirupcomingseasons.Asteamsandplayershavebecomemorecompetitive,thishasbecomemorewidespread.PDScountsonmulti-seasonathletestomakeourteamsworkandsowemustshareourplayers.Ourseasonshaveblurredandthebelowguidelineshavebeencreatedtoprotectthein-seasonteamandtheirplayers,andsupporttheteamswhoaretrainingplayersfortheirupcomingseasons.Itisourhopethatourstudent-athletesNOTbeover-programmedandoverstressed,norplacedinanuntenablesituationbetweendemandsofin-seasonandupcomingseasoncoaches.Thefollowingguidelinesshouldbefollowedwhenplanningout-of-seasontraining:
1. Anyathletewhoiscurrentlyplayingwithateam,whichisinseason,maynotparticipateinpre-seasonworkoutsforanotherteamuntilthecompletionoftheircurrentseason.
2. Pre-seasonworkoutscannotlastlongerthanonehouronaweekday,oranhourandahalfonaweekend.
3. Pre-seasonworkoutsmuststartnomorethan4weeksbeforetheseasonbegins.4. Allpre-seasonworkoutsarevoluntaryandnotmandatoryforseasonalparticipation,
thereforecannotbeusedasa“tryout”fortheupcomingseason.5. PDSCoachingstaffmaynotbeinvolvedinteachingorleadingthepre-seasonworkoutsfor
his/herteam.Theymustbeleadbyastudentornon-PDScoach/trainer.6. Allpre-seasonworkoutsmustbeclearedthroughthePDSAthleticsoffice.
AthleticTrainer HenryMinarickisourfull-timeATC(CertifiedAthleticTrainer)andheistheonlyoneallowedtodispenseneededsuppliesfromtheathletictrainingroom.Henrymaybereachedat609-462-9622.NotifyourheadATCofallinjuries.Inturn,hewillcommunicateseriousinjuriestotheA.D.,DivisionHeads,andtheschoolnurse.OurATC,inconjunctionwiththeathlete'sphysician,willdeterminewhenanathletecansafelyresumeathleticparticipation.Hewillkeepallmedicalrecordsandisthepersonwhowillreleaseplayerstoreturntopracticeafteraninjury.PleasenotifyourATCifthereisashortageofanymedicalsuppliesinyourmedicalkit.

PatrickKerneyFitnessCenter DariusYoungisourSportsPerformanceCoachandhecanbereachedat609-647-2297.Hecansetupprogramsforyourteamandindividuals.Tobetterpromotehealthandsafety,andtoimproveindividualandteamperformance,weencouragein-seasonvarsityteamstotakeadvantageofourweightroomfacilityandtocontactourSportsPerformanceCoachtoscheduleaconvenienttime.Itisparamountthatasstudent-athletesplaymultipleseasonsthattheyhaveaconsistentweighttrainingregimentobestbenefitthemandtheteamsthattheyplayon.TheRoleoftheStudent-AthleteAcademicsAcademicsatPDScertainlydocomefirstanditisimperativethatyoumaintainyourgradesinallsubjects.Donote,however,thatannualstudiesconductedbytheDepartmentofEducationhaveclearlyshownthatstudentswhoparticipateinco-curricularactivitiesdobetterintheirclasswork,inpartbecausetheyhavebetterlearnedtheskillofsuccessfultimemanagement.SportsmanshipWhilePrincetonDaySchooltakesgreatprideinwinning,wediscourageanyandallpressuresthatmightimpedegoodsportsmanship.Anundueemphasisonwinningcaneasilyleavethefalseimpressionthatastudent’sathleticexperiencehasvalueonlyifthecompetitionresultsinawin.Weurgeourcoachestoteachwithabroaderpurposeinmind.Theyinstruct,inspireandprepareourstudentssotheycangivetheirbesteffortand,winorlose,accepttheoutcomewithmaturityandgrace.FitnessWeexpectourathletestopreparefortheirupcomingseason.Beingpreparedbothphysicallyandmentallywillsetthestageforarewardingseason.Followyourcoach'srecommendationsforthebestroutine.Equallyimportant,eatbalancedandnutritiousmeals,gettheproperamountofsleep,andconsultourathletictrainerattheinitialstageofanyinjury. LettheCoachbetheCoachWhenonthesidelines,parentsshouldresistthetemptationto“coach,”recognizingthatyoumayconfuseorcontradictourcoachessidelineinstruction.
SupportPDSCoaches:Regardlessofaparents’sportsexperience,oneshouldnotpubliclycriticizethecoachorteammates.Itiscrucialtotheteam’sspiritandsuccessthatplayersdeveloparespectfortheircoach.
SportsmanshipDemonstrategoodsportsmanshipatalltimes-towardsopponents,coaches,teammates,officials,andotherspectators.Weaskthisofourplayersanditisparamountthattheirrolemodelsdothesame.
Non-DiscriminationandNon-HarassmentPolicy
ItisthepolicyofPDStoprovideaworkenvironmentfreefromallformsofunlawfuldiscrimination.Discriminationbasedonanemployee’srace,color,religion,creed,nationalorigin,sex,sexualorientation,age,physicalormentaldisability,veteranstatus,geneticinformationoranyotherprotectedstatus,asdefinedbyfederal,stateorlocallaw,isstrictlyprohibitedandwillnotbetoleratedbytheSchool.Harassmentbasedonsexorotherprotectedcharacteristicsisaformofdiscriminationthatisalsoprohibitedbystateandfederallaw.Sexualandotherformsofunlawfulharassmentwillnotbetolerated.Suchconductwillresultindisciplinaryactionuptoandincludingtermination.Sexualharassmentincludesbutisnotlimitedtounwelcomesexualadvances,requestsforsexualfavorssexuallyexplicitoroffensivecomments,jokes,pictures,internetdownloads,sexualcommentsaboutaperson’sappearance,dressoranatomy,unwelcomephysicaltouchingorcontactorotherconductandwhensuchconducthasthepurposeoreffectofunreasonablyinterferingwithanindividual’sworkperformanceorcreatingasexuallyintimidating,hostileoroffensiveworkenvironment.Itisexpectedthateveryemployeewilltreateveryotherstaffmember,studentandvisitorwithrespect,courtesyandprofessionalism.Itisalsoexpectedthatnoemployeewillinterferewithanyotheremployee’sabilitytowork;thisincludes,butisnotlimitedto,racistbehavior,sexualharassment,physicalabuseand/orverbalabusewhichincludesmakingprofessionallydamagingstatements.Failuretomeetthisexpectationisgroundsfordismissal.Anyemployeewhobelievesheorshehasexperiencedsuchconductbyanyone,includingasupervisor,co-worker,orbyotherpersonsdoingbusinesswithorfortheSchoolshouldtelltheoffenderthatsuchconductisunwelcomeandunacceptable.Suchconduct,whenexperiencedorobserved,shouldalsobereportedimmediatelytotheHeadofSchool,anymemberofthe

LeadershipTeam,ortheDirectorofHumanResources.TheHeadofSchoolorHeadofSchool’sdesigneewillconductaninvestigation.Allcomplaintsshallremainconfidentialtotheextentpracticable,giventheneedforpossibleinvestigationand/orresolutionofthecomplaint.IftheSchooldeterminesthatanemployeehasviolatedthispolicyorhasengagedininappropriateorunprofessionalbehavior,appropriatedisciplinaryactionmaybetakenagainsttheoffendingemployee,uptoandincludingimmediateterminationofemployment.TheSchoolforbidsanyformofretaliationagainstanyemployeeforfilingagoodfaithcomplaintunderthispolicyorforassistingingoodfaithinacomplaintinvestigation.Anyemployeewhofeelshe/shehasbeenretaliatedagainstforfilingacomplaintunderthispolicyorassistinginaninvestigationshouldimmediatelyreportsuchretaliationtoHeadofSchoolorDirectorofHumanResources. ChildSexualAbuse/MolestationPreventionPolicyItisthepolicyofPDStocreateasafeenvironmentforthestudentsentrustedtotheSchool’scare.Inordertoachievethis,PrincetonDaySchoolhasa“zerotolerance”policyrelatingtosexualabuse/molestationofchildren.Thispolicyoutlinesmandatoryproceduresthatmustbefollowedwhenonelearnsoforwitnessessexualabuseormolestation.ChildSexualAbuse/Molestationisdefinedasanysexualactivitywithachildandmaytaketheformofinappropriatesexualcontactorinteractionforthesexualgratificationofanadultorolderadolescent.Inadditiontodirectsexualcontact,childsexualabusealsooccurswhenanadultengagesinindecentexposuretoachildwithintenttogratifytheirownsexualdesires,asksorpressuresachildtoengageinsexualactivities,displayspornographytoachild,orusesachildtoproducechildpornography.Fortheprotectionofbothadultsandchildren,certainbehavioralstandardsforinteractingwithminorsshouldbeobserved,includingbutnotlimitedto:
- Whenworkingone-on-onewithachild,besuretochooseaspacewhichiswelllit,observableandinterruptible
- PDSfacultyandstaffarestronglydiscouragedfromusingtheirpersonalvehicletodrivestudentsunderanycircumstances,includingschool-sponsoredtrips.Nothinginthispolicyisintendedtointerferewiththeabilityofsuchemployeestodrivetheirownchildren.Thepolicyisalsonotintendedtopreventsuchfaculty/staffparents,outsideofschoolhoursandfornon-schoolpurposes,fromusingtheirpersonalvehiclestodriveorcarpoolthefriendsoftheirchildren,providedthattheparentsorlegalguardiansofthosefriendsgrantpermission.
- AsidefromtheuseofapprovedofficialPDSelectroniccommunicationsystems,facultyandstaffshouldnothavedirect,one-on-oneelectroniccontactwithstudents.
Takeactiontopreventabuse.EveryoneplaysanimportantroleinthepreventionofChildSexualAbuse.Bevigilantinyourobservationofanychangesinastudent’sbehavior,listenactivelyandcarefullyandpayattentiontohowastudentcommunicates.

Reporting/Investigation:“Ifyouseesomething,saysomething.”Anyemployeewhohasconcerns,suspicions,witnessesorlearnsofsuchconductbyanyone,includingasupervisor,co-worker,orbyotherpersonsdoingbusinesswithorfortheSchoolmustreportitimmediatelytotheHeadofSchool,anymemberoftheLeadershipTeam,ortheDirectorofHumanResources.Allemployeesoftheschoolaremandatoryreportersandcannotignore/dismissanyinstancesinwhichtheyareperceivedasinappropriate.Allcomplaintsshallremainconfidentialtotheextentpracticable,giventheneedforpossibleinvestigationand/orresolutionofthecomplaint.Ifthesuspectedvictimisaminor,theappropriateagencywillbenotified.PDStakesallegationsofsexualabuseseriously.Oncetheallegationisreported,theHeadofSchoolorhisdesigneewillinitiateaprompt,thoroughandimpartialinvestigationtodetermineifthereisareasonablebasistobelievethatsexualabusehasbeencommitted.Ifthesubjectoftheinvestigationisanemployee,theSchoolreservestherighttoplacethatemployeeonaleaveofabsenceorreassignthatemployeetoapositionwithresponsibilitiesthatdonotinvolveinteractionwithstudents.Tothefullestextentpossible,butconsistentwiththelegalobligationtoreportsuspectedabusetotheproperauthorities,theSchoolwillstrivetokeeptheidentitiesoftheallegedvictim(s)andsubjectofinvestigationconfidential.IftheSchooldeterminesthatanyemployeehasviolatedthispolicyorhasengagedininappropriateorunprofessionalbehavior,appropriatedisciplinaryactionwillbetakenagainsttheoffendingemployee,uptoandincludingimmediateterminationofemployment.TheSchoolforbidsanyformofretaliationagainstanyemployeeforfilingagoodfaithcomplaintunderthispolicyorforassistingingoodfaithinacomplaintinvestigation.Anyemployeewhofeelshe/shehasbeenretaliatedagainstforfilingacomplaintunderthispolicyorassistinginaninvestigationshouldimmediatelyreportsuchretaliationtoHeadofSchoolorDirectorofHumanResources.
