Greetings, Friends of Tiger Band! It’s been a great year for the Princeton Band. Following record-

breaking undergraduate recruiting during the football season, the Band was out in full force this spring to support Princeton Hockey, with more enthusiasm than ever before. Thanks to your support and help from the University, the Band was able to attend several away Ivy League games, as well as postseason games in Albany and Minneapolis. The FOTB also had a strong year with over $44,500 in donations, an increase of 25% over last year! Thank you so much for your truly generous support at a time when many organizations are struggling to make ends meet.

The Band is aiming to repeat its recruiting success and stay musically strong this fall. The PUB and the FOTB extend a special invitation for alumni to join the undergraduates at Princeton football

games. Please come rejoin the Band for the rematch against the Citadel, the Columbia game and the PUB’s 90th anniversary celebration (see below), or other games either at home or away. You can find the Band’s schedule and contact information at www.princeton.edu/~puband.

Given the current economic climate there have been many questions about the future of the FOTB. Fortunately, our endowment is protected from loss; however, we will be earning less in interest for the next two years, and we are unlikely to get additional annual support from the University any time soon. Otherwise, it’s business as usual: we rely on your contributions to pay for instruments, new uniforms and other operating expenses. Your generosity has allowed the Band to continue to grow and we hope you’ll consider donating again.
