I went and visited my daughters and my grandchildren in NSW. My eldest daughter Amanda and her husband Brad live on 5 acres outside Tamworth with their 2 kids Angus and Sophia. It was great to catch up. There was a lot of smoke in the air but no fires while I was there. We all then travelled to Lismore to my daughter Jessica's place where she lives with husband Perry and son Kobi (and one on the way). On the way from Tamworth to the coast there was a lot of burnt forest but again we were lucky not to have been caught up in any fires. We spent some time at the beach and it was really good to see them all again, we had an excellent Christmas. Saddleworth staff have been back to work this week. Teachers and I met on Wednesday to rewrite our School Improvement Plan (SIP). While all other areas of teaching and learning will continue at a high level, we will focus on improving the way we teach our Oral language. This will build our students vocabulary and comprehension levels to improve our reading and writing in all students across the school. On Friday all teachers and an SSO went to Owen Primary School to partake in an interoception morning. Interoception is described as our '8th sense' and is about helping children understand what is going on inside them as feelings and reactions to things and developing strategies to help them deal with these in effective and appropriate ways. Our teachers saw Interoception as an important area of focus to help all of our students. Everyone here at Saddleworth Primary School is looking forward to a fantastic 2020. Welcome back students, it's good to see you. Kind regards James Bryant

We would like to welcome Ms Merritt to Saddleworth Primary School. She will be teaching in the UP class and we look forward to getting to know her. Here is a little bit about her. Hi everyone I hope you had a fabulous holiday and are ready to learn lots of new things this year. I am really excited to be teaching again at Saddleworth, the last time was when we moved down from Roxby when I had 28 year 6/7 students. I then taught at Kapunda for 13 years and Manoora for the last 4. My first teaching years were at Marree, Andamooka and Roxy Downs Area School and we really enjoyed our time living up north. My children Sam and Annie went to Saddleworth and then Riverton High. Annie is working in Canberra now and Sam is completing a carpentry apprenticeship. They both played football and netball for RSMU. I live locally and look forward to my time here at Saddleworth Primary.

Hardship Application -Applicants who are over the School Card limits but have experienced hardship in the 2018/2019 financial year which has resulted in the family’s average weekly gross income being within the School Card income limits based on the number of dependent children, you may apply on hardship grounds. If you think you are eligible for school card please refer to the flyer or come in and see Rachel.

The tables below list the income limits for applications lodged in 2020 – based on the family's gross income in 2018/2019. To qualify for school card, your family's gross income must be below a certain limit. This limit depends on how many dependent children you have and whether your child attends a government, independent, or Catholic school.
